• Fridge Brilliance: Krystal was essentially murdered in this adaptation, as opposed to her suicide in the book. The killers? Vikram, who should have tried to find Robbie's caregiver — in this version Krystal was not having sex with Fats, and therefore was gone for a much shorter amount of time — instead of taking him home and leaving his sister to assume the worst and go into the water looking for him. The other killer? Simon Price, whose thoughtless dumping of his stolen goods caught Krystal in the water and contributed to her drowning.
