In mythology, Hel is depicted as half her body being alive and the other half skeletal or decaying. In season 2, Eva as Hel is depicted as almost having two different personalities at times.
If Helen/Idunn hadn't been killed, Gaia would definitely have become Papatuanuku, not Frygg. Hanna, the true Frygg, is obviously at least ten years older than Gaia. So, by the time Gaia turned 21, it would have been impossible for her to become Frygg.
After the gods ascend to Asgard, Gaia is alone in London with nobody knowing who she is. Suzy, who was the host to Saga, is in the same boat and doesn't even know why, as are any other god-hosts who don't know their situation.
