  • When Merlin gives Cayleb his katana in Off Armageddon Reef, he tells him it's named Excalibur. The reference is obvious given that Merlin calls himself... well, Merlin. However, Excalibur was also the name of the ship Nimue Alban served on, making the name both a mythological reference and a Call-Back.
  • In Off Armageddon Reef it's mentioned that copies of the Writ traditionally have a blank page between the Book of Chihiro and the Book of Hastings. At first this seems random until you realize that the Book of Chihiro is the history of the War Against the Fallen, the blank page is there to symbolize that the war is not complete and history will continue to be written.
