Fridge Brilliance

  • The title of the show comes from the fact that the mother and father, Sue and Pete, struggle to raise their three kids, meaning that they are literally "outnumbered" by two to three.
  • Why doesn't Barbara appear in later episodes after Series 2? Well, in the episode "The Long Night", she apparently attacks her husband with a frying pan, and then towards the end of the episode the police were about to question her, implying that after the events of that episode she got arrested for domestic assault.
  • When Karen makes a revenge list in the Series 2 finale "The Long Night", she includes her family and Granddad in it. Throughout Series 2, there were a few moments in which Karen's family have upset her, which may have caused her to include them in the list. Speaking of which, she probably included Sue because she apparently killed a rodent in "The Dead Mouse", and Granddad was included as he criticised Karen's recorder performance in "The Old-Fashioned Sunday". Ben was probably included for several reasons more than one, but it's unknown why Jake's name was put down in the list.
  • In "The Girls' Day Out", Karen is disgusted with the fact that Ben has cooked dinner, although in the 2011 Christmas Special she is completely fine with the sandwiches Ben has made. It's likely that Karen is fine with the food Ben makes as long as it isn't cooked, in spite of him being such a Lethal Chef.

Fridge Horror

  • Ben theoretically could have given himself and his family food-poisoning (salmonella) in "The Girls' Day Out" as he included pork amongst his ingredients, pork that was most likely raw when he found it and it's also likely he didn't cook it since it was established beforehand that he can't be trusted with hot stuff (likely including the oven), hence his decision to make salad in the first place.
