Fridge Logic and Fridge Brilliance for "The Return of Harmony Part 2"

  • Fridge Brilliance:
    • Spike is actually a very good replacement for a missing Rainbow Dash. Rainbow wields the element of loyalty, and Spike's character is practically defined by his Undying Loyalty to Twilight and, to a lesser extent, Rarity.
    • Discord's very brief spec of concern for Twilight seems far more significant after his Heel–Face Turn, especially since it's for the exact same reason (realising there's no one to enjoy his chaos with). He brushes it off here because it took doing the math in the later instance to realise that.
  • Fridge Logic: Why didn't Twilight Sparkle just use her spell to walk on clouds to get the ponies high enough to catch Discorded Rainbow Dash?
    • They were in a terrible hurry to stop Discord.
    • If they lost Rainbow Dash now, they might not find her again.
    • The spell took some prep time and, like other more difficult spells, was draining on Twilight.
    • Not to mention that Twilight had just cast four de-brainwashing spells in rapid succession, and needed to conserve enough energy to lay the fifth one on Rainbow Dash once they caught her.
    • There weren't enough clouds around for them to use to chase Rainbow Dash.
  • Fridge Horror: Discord had so much power when he took over that the sun and moon were rising on their own accord. So, that being said... what did he do to Celestia and Luna?
    • Given how Twilight was able to negate his magic on an individual level (though his large-scale effects still could only be negated by the Elements), it's possible they were able to protect themselves (but were still unable to stop his effects everywhere else, of course).
