Gensai's use of punches almost exclusively and just a few low kicks has a good reason: he's a master of Okinawan Karate, and high kicks were introduced only in Japanese Karate. His use of a high kick against Agito is thus a legitimate surprise, but is also proof of his dedication that he went and learned moves outside his style.

Rolón is able to take down fighters greatly above his size with strikes launched from his shoulder blades. It is shown in flashback he defeated Toa like this but it also explains Naidan not being able to beat him if they had fought before, his hard redirection only negates attacks launched from the hips so Rolón can beat his way out of a grab.
At first glance, Misasa's position as the Fang Of Metsudo is surprising, as he bucks the trend of the previous Fangs being absolutely gigantic men. However, his Silat skills make him an utter nightmare against larger opponents, meaning that he is essentially an anti-Fang fighter, and likely could easily deal with anyone else who was up for the title.
