Fridge Brilliance

• GIR has been seen vomiting throughout the series, and issue 9 makes it clear that he does so often. It's possible that he has to vomit back every single thing he eats due to his lack of a digestive system.
• Issue 21 has a classic "Freaky Friday" Flip where Zim's "Bizmarkian mind-swapper" switches Zim with Gaz and Dib with GIR. For the most part, The Mind Is a Plaything of the Body is in effect, with Zim having to fight Gaz's natural apathy at every turn as Dib deals with Sanity Slippage while inhabiting GIR's wonky programming. Gaz, though, undergoes a dramatic personality alteration over the course of the issue, dropping her games and everything else for a chance to Take Over the World, eventually stealing Zim's identity and becoming unrecognizable as anyone but a shrewder and more competent incarnation of Zim, retaining none of her other quirks. Dib himself notes that "having Zim's body is making Gaz act more Irken than human." Why? Because she doesn't just have Zim's body, she has his PAK. She's essentially undergoing the same process of mental override by which Dib gradually "became" Zim after attaching to his PAK in the unfinished "Ten Minutes to Doom" episode.
  Zim: Remember, you said everyone in the world would know the name "Zim."
  Gaz: I did. And now they do. Everyone knows me. And I am Zim.
  • In this vein, the reason Gaz is so efficient at taking over the world compared to Zim is exactly because Gaz essentially becomes a "proper" Irken in the way Zim was never able to. She lacks his dysfunctional and egotistical personality, as Gaz was already quite misanthropic and no-nonsense to begin with, so, when that's combined with Zim's PAK driving her to take over the world, she essentially becomes a perfectly competent invader on par with Tak and the other Irkens Zim competes with regularly, with non of Zim's stupidity or ego getting in her way.

Fridge Horror

• As seen in the comics, Dib has had plenty of moments in which he Took a Level in Jerkass that he didn't reach in the show (more details on the main and character pages). While it could be the more colder side of his personality shining through, could it be a result of trauma from his experiences throughout the series?
  • The existence of Zib also makes this concerning. Are they early signs of Sanity Slippage?
• Discussed in-universe in Issue 10. In a pudding commercial on tv, a kid gets turned into pudding and flies away. Zim mentions how the commercial never shows the kid turning back, leaving him essentially stuck like that.
• Dib being locked in the containment unit with the snarl beast.
  • Luckily for Dib the snarl beast had returned to its docile form when they got trapped. Now the kids it threatened on the other hand (plus Dib who it now has quite the hold of).
    • All things considered Dib might be okay. It's just that it doesn't seem like he can stop the snarl beast from whatever it's about to do to the kids...
• In Issue 49, Zib is a Dib from an alternate reality that attached Zim’s PAK to the back of his head, which is why he has so much access to a bunch of complex technology. What’s concerning is exactly the nature of Zib’s mind, since the PAK of an Irken contains a mind of their own. How conscious is Zim’s PAK? Is he dormant? Dead? Is he trapped inside? Or did Dib absorb Zim’s personality to the point where they’re one and the same? This leads to a plethora of terrible possibilities:
  • There’s the fact that, if Zim is conscious, he’s either A. stuck in the mind of his worst enemy while being forced to give him ideas on how to stop other versions of himself, which is probably the worst blow to Zim’s ego, or B. Zim is actually the one corrupting Dib into doing progressively horrendous acts, and is perfectly fine with brainwashing, manipulating and even killing his alternate selves to do it, likely because Zib’s genocide allows him to destroy more humans.
  • Even if Zim is completely dead, it still has horrific implications. That would mean that every terrible act Zib did was all because Dib lost his mind from not being believed. We can only hope that our Dib never manages to defeat Zim, because their constant stalemating is the only thing protecting their universe.
  • If the two of them have actually merged personalities instead, it can be defined as a Death of Personality for both of them, being a culmination of their worst fears and desires; Dib becomes the genocidal maniac that he was trying to stop Zim from becoming, and Zim becomes the human he hates more than anything.
• The last shot of "The Dookie Loop Horror" (and the series) implies that Gir once again killed Dib then baked him into a pie. And while Gir did mention to Dib about wanting to "bake" again the time loop had reset before he got the chance, and unlike Zim and Dib Gir isn't immune to the loop's amnesic effects. Just a dark but fitting gag to cap the series off, or was Dib so tired and defeated from his failure that he didn't have it in him to fight Gir or, worse, suggested the idea himself since even Zim saw what Gir did as being too far? Either way the loop will revive Dib, but at the very least Dib is going to remember what happened which isn't going to be good for his horrifically scarred psyche...

• If Dib never left his room for 2 years where did he find the time to learn how to fly Tak’s ship?
