  • People complain that Pinhead became too hammy and too evil in this film, but looking at his situation here, it actually makes sense that he'd change in that manner. Now separated from Captain Spencer's human influence, he's not only unbound by his old rules, but he's also lost his more subtle tastes and drives, to say nothing of whatever restraint Spencer may have been able to exert on his actions. In the previous films, Spencer gave Pinhead limits and restrictions, but deprived of the captain Pinhead is just a monster, losing his depth as well as his restraints.
