Fridge Brilliance

  • One would find it annoying, even off-putting when Jake falls in love with Anna-in-Tess's-Body. But then you realize, it's actually brilliant on the story's part. If he had fallen in love with Tess-in-Anna's-body, it would've invoked the Fridge Horror where he'd be disappointed once Anna went back to her old self. But he fell in love with Anna's spirit, not her physical teenage appearance.
    • Luckily, that's fixed later when during the rock concert, Anna projects herself through her mother "playing" the guitar.
  • It's admittedly immature of Tess (in Anna's body) to sabotage Stacy's test, even for what she did earlier. However, it could also be seen as Tess taking action as a Mama Bear to punish Stacy for bullying her daughter and for not taking the olive branch when Tess tried to mend the friendship. In addition, she's making sure that Stacy is held back a grade, so by next year, she won't be in Anna's classes and will have little to no interaction with her.
    • Plus, Stacy was actually the one cheating—she can be seen peeking at Anna's test several times right before she frames her. It's only fair that Stacy suffer the same consequences as "Anna".
  • Anna (whilst in her mother's body) learning that her brother Harry secretly idolizes her puts into perspective why Tess doesn't do anything about Harry being a pest. It's possible Harry has confided in his mother how he really feels about his sister.
  • The 'learning from the other's perspective' doesn't just mean Anna and Tess learning to understand each other. Anna in her mother's body learns to understand Harry and Ryan, and how they're actually not as bad as she'd been painting them. Tess likewise sees Jake's Hidden Depths and those of Anna's friends and their music.

Fridge Horror

  • How many more of the magic fortune cookies does Pei-Pei's mother have? And how many times has she done this before to other people because they were quarreling? As implied by Pei-Pei, "Mother, stay out of it please!".
    • Worse, are some of those unlucky customers still trapped in each other's bodies?
