Fridge Brilliance:

  • The show's logo is brilliance in itself - the "dino" half of the logo is covered in green scales, while "trux" half is made of shiny metal. The show's logo perfectly represents show premise of dinosaurs mixed with vehicles.
  • A meta example: most of the voice actors from the show are Canadian. Canada is home to one of the world's most important fossil finds, and one of its provinces (Alberta) is called "dinosaur capital of the world".
  • Ty's line in the final episode ("Let's just say... D-Structs defeated himself.") actually makes a lot of sense. It could be that Ty's speech about community and sharing somehow got into D-Strucks' head - he realized that without the help of his allies, he would not be able to single-handedly take on the inhabitants of the Crater just like he was able to do it in the first seasons (as shown earlier in the episode when he and his brother were outnumbered, and D-Strucks had to take Revvit hostage to avoid getting his sheet metal kicked), who - thanks to the kindness of Ty and his friends - becomed one united community towards the end of the series. His final moment with Ty and his decision to leave the Crater in search of new place to live, could be interpreted as him stoically coming to terms with the failure regarding the goal he pursued throught the past 78 episodes - namely, tearing down community that Ty and his friends created, in order to have everything for himself.
    • Alternatively, D-Structs did what most villains didn't in his place: quit fighting against the hero and go someplace else to wreck havoc, which is actually a pretty smart move.
  • In Crabcavator Ton-Ton doesn't notice that he and the gang are in the air-filled underwater cave. While it could be explained as Ton-Ton being Ton-Ton, keep in mind that earlier in the episode he said that "Dozer is the only one who has taken a trip to the bubble town". Of course he didn't realised that they're in underwater cave - he has never been underwater before!

Fridge Horror

  • Scraptors. While most scrap collectors are content to scavenge spare scrap metal that is found lying around or prey on the weak or injured, Scraptors are perfectly willing to team up to attack completely able Dinotrux to capture them and take them to their nest where they gradually tear them apart piece by piece as they need material to build their nests.
    • In their debut episode, during the scene where the pack of the Scraptor that got captured by the gang and is transported by Ton-Ton hears his calls they can be seen feasting on what looks like a smaller version of the Stegarbasaurus body part. Does this Scraptors killed young Stegarbasaurus?!
  • Scrap collectors in general if you think too hard about the fact the only scrap metal in this world is essentially the flesh of living beings.
  • At the end of Season 5, the Dreadtrux leaves peacefully with her egg. But in part 1, Revvit notes that Dreadtrux spend months eating and destroying everything in their path. The mother Dreadtrux may have left the Crater in peace, but what about all the Trux and their homes outside the Crater?!
    • Doubtful given that in the last episode Ty managed to befriend her.
  • At the season 8 finale, D-Stroy is seen driven out of the crater by the tunnel, then rocks covered it. He might have died as if he had been alive, he would have busted his way out.
  • We never see what happened to the Splitter, Blayde and Pounder after Dreadtrux two-parter in which they break up with D-Strucks and Skrap-It and are never seen through the entire series. Are they terrorizing Trux and Tools living outside of Crater, or they're planning to return to Crater and taking advantage of the fact that the D-Bros were defeated, essentially becoming a new threat to Ty and company? Seems like residents of Crater can't catch a break...
    • In the part 2 of the aforementioned episode, Pounder gets knocked unconscious by the Dreadtrux treads after having a smart idea to pound her. Did she killed him? Alternatively that could have been totally different Poundersaurolophus reusing Pounder model.
  • The last time we see Gold Trux is when his golden lair is melting. Did he drowned in the melted gold and becomed a golden statue of himself? Or worse, he somehow survived and wants a revenge against Ty and his friends from losing his precious gold. And given how nuts he was already, who's to say that losing his gold made his mental state even worse?
  • In "Ty vs. D-Structs", after exiling all residents of the Crater and destroying all entrances to it, it may seem that D-Structs and D-Stroy (and Scraptools) are now the only creatures living in the area. But if you rewatch the opening of the episode, you notice that they only banished Trux, and there aren't any Reptools with them, unlike the episode "Volcano" where Reptools were present during the evacuation. This theory gets supported during the final battle, where Ottos and Junktools come from the opposite directions of the tunnel, as if they were already in the Crater from the beginning. This could mean, that with the other Trux gone, D-Structs and D-Stroy wouldn't have any qualms about terrorizing and possibly even killing smaller and weaker Reptools who would have it much worse than at the beginning of the series, where they were hiding in their ravine out of fear of the outside world.
  • The show rule about what creature is sapient or not, is that sapient creatures have white scleras and black pupils. This gets shown with Tortools, Towaconstrictors, Picktools and Junktools who can't talk but are able to communicate non-verbally with other species, Dreadtrux who may seem as most animalistic of all Trux but are capable of thinking and cooperation with other Dinotrux, and Shredadons who are able to show gratitude. This leaves us with Aquadons who may seem as a underwater version of Scraptors or Scrapadactyls (but way bigger and dangerous), but unlike those two previous creatures Aquadons have white scleras and black pupils, and in Crabcavator one of them catches with its mouth harpoon that Ty fires into it. In addition to this, in scenes taking place underwater characters don't speak and only grunt, yell or roar. With this evidence, Aquadons could be easily compared not to Scraptors, but to Splitter, who's also a very territorial and aggressive type of Trux who sees nothing wrong with possibility of killing other Dinotrux.
