Fridge / Denji Sentai Megaranger

Fridge Brilliance:

  • Why are the Megaranger suits the same safe color and a slight tweak of vizor shape? It's because this season heavily involves video games, and in the mid-90s when this came out, Palette Swaps were common.
    • The Megarangers also follow the concept of fighting-game archetypes: Mega Red being the All-Rounder for his balanced stats, Mega Black the Grappler for being slow yet powerful, and Mega Yellow as the Glass Cannon due to being a Fragile Speedster.

  • Why do the Megarangers have the surfboard-themed Cyber Sliders when the team is based on electronics? One of the motifs of Megaranger is the internet, so they're literally surfing the web.

  • At the end of episode 20, Kubota plays a rendition of Jeannie With A Light Brown Hair to celebrate Delta Mega's first fight. The song itself alludes to a permanent separation, which Kubota played to celebrate his engineer no longer under his controlling father's thumb. But Kubota's choice becomes Harsher in Hindsight eighteen episodes later when he meets his old friend, who became Dr. Hinelar and formally declared war on him as "Dies Irae" plays in the background.

  • In episode 50, Shibolena dies with Hinelar mourning his creation he modeled after his daughter. The music played is "Lacrimosa" (lit. "weeping/tearful"), part of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's requiem. It's part of the "Dies Irae" sequence of the requiem, which deals with the Day of Wrath/Judgment Day. All a prelude to Hinelar's wrath in the final episode.

Fridge Horror:

  • When Javious died, the entire Nezire Dimension vanished with him while Hinelar assures his followers they are safe. That would mean there might have been others like Guirail that could have been wiped out by the destruction of their reality.
