In one episode, Nina learns that Sharon was innocent about the doll-incident (it was actually a mean cousin of hers that did it) and tries patching things up with her in the hopes of becoming friends again. In the end, Sharon realizes that she and Nina have just grown too far apart to be compatible as friends and ultimately decides that, at this point in their lives, they're just better off as enemies. If Nina's cousin hadn't done what she did, Sharon might've become one of the popular girls and Alyson (assuming she still would've become friends with Nina) might not have had to give up her old friends in order to be with Connor.
In "A Dog's Life" when Pigger the dog is taken to a meet-up at a pet store after becoming the star of a TV commercial, one kid there seems to be getting too rough with him and Sharon has to intervene. If she hadn't that child could have been bitten.
