  • After the Blaze, people had to survive by clinging to their Baroques... those who could became distorted yet remained sorta-human, while those who couldn't became Meta-Beings. Why then is the Protagonist able to rack up many Baroques without any distortion? And to a lesser extent, exist without any seeming Baroque at all when he starts out? Because he was part of the Dabar Fusion with the Absolute God - regardless of it's interruption, he already has his own Baroque; divinity, in essence. It's abilities allow him to grow stronger by absorbing other earned Baroques, purify certain residents, return from death yet subconsciously learn from everything he goes through, and so forth without distorting. He is essentially a twisted version of a demigod.
