- During the first series, especially the live-action ones, you’ll notice how Shirley is easily swayed and pressured into doing activities with the Mei sisters. Then, you remind yourself that her adult “babysitter” appearance is just a cover for her to live in the human world. As a fairy from a Magical Land, Shirley has not learned the real life skills of the human world where she can not use her magic openly. Moreover, she had the mind of a child, which fits with her irresponsibility that sparked the very start of the series. Therefore, she does not have the confidence and capability to lead the girls until later as orchestrated by the Queen as a Secret Test of Character.
- The fact Xiao Lan can read any book and remember every detail after reading it just once. That's right, every single detail while reading it once. While it is very impressive and a characteristic as a Child Prodigy, it shows that she has an incredibly dangerous learning curve, especially if it goes into...say, forbidden magic or things that would not suit well on back on Earth.
