Fridge Brilliance

  • Fake Akagi is frequently described as being good with probability, and Kawada justifies hiring him as a rep player because he prioritizes "the average" over big wins. However, in Urabe's scheme of doubling the wager whenever neither he nor Fake Akagi gets first place, the expected value, or average, of the amount of the wager is infinite, assuming that the probability of the wager doubling is at least half. Fake Akagi falls apart because his rational brain, determined to mathematically optimize his expected value, reads that infinity and has a Does Not Compute freak-out.
