Beauty and the Beast is a French Fairy Tale originally written and published in the 18th century by the author Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve. The story has been adapted and altered many times, but all versions concern a romance between a beautiful young woman and a monstrously ugly man; the titular Beauty and the Beast respectively.
