Foreshadowing / Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

  • When arguing with Harry about their highly risky tactic of disguising six of them as seven of him, Mad-Eye adds that You-Know-Who could not be able to target all of them, because not even he can split himself into seven. Indeed, he could not as this was the limit for splitting a soul into horcruxes, and in doing so he destroyed his own body.
  • Hermione talks about how basilisk venom is one of the few things in existence that can destroy a Horcrux. Ron mocks that they conveniently have a large supply of basilisk teeth lying around. Turns out they do, and Ron is the one who remembers them. Upon returning to Hogwarts, he and Hermione head off to the Chamber of Secrets, taking several of the dead basilisk's teeth, and using one to destroy the cup.
  • When Harry recalls that Voldemort always used places of mystique and grandeur to hide his Horcruxes in, he mentions that the muggle orphanage he grew up in was nowhere near that when compared to places like Hogwarts or Gringotts. Both locations have Horcruxes hidden in them.
  • The story of the Peverell brothers mirrors what happens to Voldemort, Snape, and Harry, right down to age order. The eldest, Voldemort, died because of power. The second, Snape, died for lost love. And the youngest, Harry, greeted Death like an old friend, willing and ready.
    • Bonus point when you realize that the youngest Peverell brother, Ignotus, is actually Harry's ancestor.
  • Movie-only. When Harry met Xenophilius Lovegood, the latter put the Deathly Hallows' symbol in Harry's face.
