Now the Stooges must fend off Hargan and his gang when they come back.

Released in 1947, this was one of four shorts by Columbia Stooge shorts to fall under public domain, and has been released onto a countless DVD collections.

This short has examples of these tropes

  • Accidental Tickle Torture: This is Moe's reaction when one of Hargan's cronies tries to check his pockets for the combination code for their intended heist.
  • Bait-and-Switch: At first, it seems like Shemp is sitting down and working on a pair of pants across his legs. He then walks away to use the radio, revealing that the legs seen were a mannequin's.
  • Face Fault: Live action version; A man leaves the shop with the back of his coat torn to shreds by an unthinking Shemp using a brush with a razor stuck in. He they comes back saying that his wife loves the coat, and wants him to get a pair of matching pants. Cue the Stooges toppling over from shock.
  • Shout-Out: The short's title is a pun on the classic English nursery rhyme, "Sing a Song of Sixpence".
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: The Stooges miss out on the reward for Hargan's capture, but they find a bunch of money in Hargan's pocket which they keep when the cop takes Hargan away.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Despite the fact that the Stooges were the ones to apprehend Hargan and his thugs, the cop that takes the criminals away gloats that he'll be getting the reward instead of them since he's the one that has to take them to jail, leaving the stooges with nothing.
