Tropes for the film:

  • Blade on a Rope: The movie ends with Tong Shan fighting axe-gang leader (Rongguang), who uses an Axe on a Chain and managed to slash Tong across the stomach. Tong still wins by snatching the Axe's chain, and uses it to impale his own opponent .
  • Frame-Up: Tong discovers his mentor, Dr. Lui Mung to be involved in organ theft (specifically, of children), but before he could investigate any further, Mung decided to have Shan framed for the abduction and murder of local kids via planting faked evidence.
  • Organ Theft: Shan is a doctor in a rural town who ends up investigating a series of mysterious murders involving children being found dead with their organs removed. Turns out Tong's mentor (and one heck of a Broken Pedestal) is the mastermind behind an organ trafficking ring, and is specifically targeting children of poor townspeople because "nobody will miss them".
  • "Wanted!" Poster: Tong Shan is subjected to a frame up, courtesy of his Evil Mentor and is suspected to be part of an organization that abducts children for harvesting their organs. After a daring escape from the police, a Wanted Poster of the hero appears in a public square.
