Ahammadali "Ali Ikka" Suleiman, The Don of the (fictional) coastal town of Ramadapally, is arrested by the police under charges of terrorism while going for Hajj. Knowing that it is unlikely that there will be witnesses against him, and wary of the possible political and social ramifications on the Muslim and Christian communities in Ramadapally of any legal proceeding against him being dragged out, the police, under the advice of Suleiman's mother Jameela, make a plan - to have a goon kill Suleiman in custody, rule it a suicide, and close the book. The goon they select to do the deed? Freddy, a small time thug - and Suleiman's wife Roseline's nephew; her brother David and Suleiman were once friends and comrades, but David now hates him.

Why does Jameela want her son dead? What drove David and Suleiman apart? And how is Suleiman's "friend", the politician PA Aboobacker, involved in the matter? Will Freddy be able to kill his uncle?
