Tropes for the film:

  • As Long as It Sounds Foreign: There is a Basque character named Hiztegi Argitaletxea Sarrionandia (but they can call him "Izzy"). His name is a genuine Basque for "Dictionary of the Sarrionandia Publishing House".
  • Kindly Vet: The vet is so kindly, he's the only one who can resist sleeping with Rachel. It Makes Sense in Context. Sorta.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: It gets outright literal: Mormon Harlan gets to Georgia's house to fetch her grand-daughter, Rachel (who performed oral sex on him on a canoe) to convince her to get his actual girlfriend together with him to release him for his sins. When Rachel yells at him that it wasn't a big deal, but just a blowjob, and Georgia comes into the scene in a severely shocked manner, Rachel just responds with "no good deed goes unpunished".
  • Tagline: "In this family, attitude doesn't skip a generation".
