The Shuriken Sentai Ninninger entry in the "Returns" series of movies.

After two years training overseas, Takaharu, Yakumo and Kinji come home to find that Kasumi and Fuuka have become something of a cross between an idol unit and a Magical Girl unit. And that the Ninninger brand is now own by Takaharu and Fuukas' mother, who wants to remove the male element from it.

Come Back! Shuriken Sentai Ninninger: Ninnin Girls vs. Boys FINAL WARS provides examples of:

  • Actor Allusion:
  • Affectionate Parody: Much of the Ninnin Girls' schtick is one for Pretty Cure.
  • Back from the Dead:
    • Parodied with Sakurako, whose reappearance is accompanied by Yoshitaka's line from his own such situation.
      Sakurako: Don't kill me off.
    • Played straight with most of the Kibaoni Army.
  • Barred from the Afterlife: Kyuemon is unable to reincarnate until he helps the Igasaki descendants defeat the Kibaoni Army's revival.
  • Batman Gambit: Kasumi reveals at the end that she only joined Ninnin Girls to motivate Fuuka.
  • Call-Back: The scene of Takaharu returning home to see the mansion exploding in front of him is a retread of the first episode. Though the twist here is that the destruction was faked.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The green Nin Shuriken intended for Kyuemon returns here, being given to Luna. Who turns out to possessed by Kyuemon anyway.
  • Chekhov's Skill: The Ninnin Girls proving capable of faking an explosion comes in handy to fake their death during the battle later on.
  • Does Not Like Men: Implied with Sakurako, who specifically went after Fuuka to represent and only begrudgingly allows Tsumuji onto Ninnin Girls as a temp.
  • Epic Fail: The Kibaoni's attempt to sabotage the Ninnin Boys vs Ninnin Girls fights. Only the first (Yakumo vs Kasumi) and last (Bison King and Lion Ha-Oh vs Shurikenjin Dino and Gekiatsu Dai-Oh) are sabotaged successfully in favour of the girls. The second and third matches (Nagi vs Tsumuji and Kinji vs Luna) sabotage the Girls team and they completely fail to sabotage the penultimate fight (Takaharu vs Fuuka).
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Fuuka being able to create a convincing fake of an explosion that startled Takaharu is a pretty good hint that she's grown stronger than him.
    • Luna being able to use Kyuemon's Nin Shuriken at first seems to be an Actor Allusion, but it sets up that Kyuemon is inhabiting the body.
  • Medium-Shift Gag: The Ninnin Girls' Ougi has them transforming into Animesque figures to blast the enemy to smithereens.
  • Parody Assistance: Animators and character designers from Pretty Cure assisted in the above-mentioned Medium-Shift Gag.
  • Revenge Before Reason: After his revival, Mangetsu considers killing the Igasaki family more important than performing the ritual to revive his own. As such, they end up dying with him and his mother.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Sakurako shares Takaharu's love for Ninjas and catchphrase.
  • Skewed Priorities: Sakurako considers the Ninnin Girls' reputation more important than defeating evil.
  • Smart Ball: Lampshaded by Ariake, who comments that her scheme to separate he Ninningers was "one of my rare intelligent moves".
  • Took a Level in Badass: Fuuka manages to defeat Takaharu, while the latter is in Chozetsu form no less, using the Power Copying technique the latter developed.
  • Women Are Wiser: Subverted. The Ninnin Girls have to be told that the competition was sabotaged in their favour, while the Ninnin Boys figure it out the minute the competition is over.
