Hope for the Heartless by TheCacklingCactus.

  • Recommended by: Olmo JV
  • Status: Dormant
  • Synopsis: The Horned King is released from the Cauldron & mysteriously brought back to Prydain. Not even he knows why, except that the Fates have given him an impossible task he must complete before his time is up, or his soul will be sent back to the Cauldron. For all Eternity. For a short time, he controls his own Fate. Will he spend it wisely, or give in & revert back to his old ways?
  • Comments: The story has well-developed and lovable characters (both the canon and original ones), many philosophical themes relating to real-life and a pace that makes the slow redemption of a villain like the Horned King believable, effectively ranking the story as one of the best fanfics about The Black Cauldron. It's worth all the reading.

The Ghost of John (Bare Bones Version) - Kristen Lawrence (ft. The Horned King) by Alice Grimm

  • Recommended by J Briskin
  • Music: "The Ghost of John (Bare Bones Version)", by Kristen Lawrence
  • Clips of the Horned King (and others of the scarier elements from the movie) set to a lyrically expanded version of the old folk song "Have You Seen the Ghost of John?" by Kristen Lawrence, creator of the "Halloween Carols" line of music. The song itself fits the Horned King very well as it is, but Lawrence's airy vocals and haunting organ playing up the creepiness factor even more.
