The Deconstruction of Rick by Lyoko498

  • Recommended by Time Lord Victorious
  • Status: Complete, oneshot
  • Crossover with: Doctor Who
  • Synopsis: The Doctor confronts an old companion and a battle of wills and philosophy ensue.
  • Commentary: Aside from the occasional spelling and grammar error, this fic is a superb deconstruction of Rick's character, in a universe where he was once a companion of the Seventh Doctor. The depiction of the Twelfth Doctor is more along the lines of what he's like in Series 9 or 10, which makes his “The Reason You Suck” Speech fit his character well. The last line is particularly gutwrenching: "I came back because Beth and Morty were the best things to happen to me."

Rick Goes AWOL (Gravity Remix) - SAIL by 13CrazyDaisies
