The End of the Affair by Frog-kun

  • Recommended by abandoban
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Future fic. At the end of high school, Hachiman never did forsake his philosophy. He and Yukino part ways to pursue the lives of loners. Years later, they meet again, but there is no possibility of an innocent high school romance now.

Even Hikigaya Hachiman can write a Love Letter by God Emperor Penguin

  • Recommended by AnonBiblophile
  • Status: Dormant (last updated September 2017)
  • Synopsis: As the title suggests, Hachiman writes a love letter (for a class assignment) in his own unique style. While it started off as a short humourous one-shot the author has since revisited it and turned it into a full-fledged story going into the events branching out from the assignment and the resulting consequences.
    • Your mileage may vary. The story starts out very strong but there are quite a few OOC moments, especially later on.

My Adolescent Romantic Comedy Is Incorrect As I Had Logically Proven by SnowPlow

  • Recommended by St0rm
  • Status: Dormant
  • Synopsis: Yukinoshita Yukino's perspective on events in the series.

My Tinder Experience is about as Genuine as I Expected by SeconDreams

  • Recommended by Arusefu
  • Status: Dormant; last updated January 2018
  • Synopsis: Hikigaya Hachiman makes a Tinder account.
  • Comments: At first it seems like a generic fanfiction but soon enough the author's capacities are revealed. Not only their portrait of the characters feels natural, they also are capable of bringing forth the quirks and capacities of the Service Club individually and as a group. Their flaws come into play merging really well with their strong points to give us a very good portrait of Hachiman, Yukino and Yui. It's a comedy which is a breathe of fresh air amidst so much drama, highly recommended. -Arusefu.

Only a Matter of Time by bronze v lee sin

  • Recommended by Genius JJ
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Shortly after his third year at Sobu High begins, Hachiman finds out that he is terminally ill. While the others are moving on to the next stage in life, he's moving on to the final stage of his. How will this affect him and everyone around him?

  • Comments: If you're looking for a good Hachiman X Yukino fic, you're just in luck. Despite this being the author's first fanfiction story, it's actually very well-written. The story is told from Hachiman's perspective and goes into great detail on how he struggles with his illness, along with focusing on his growing relationship with Yukino. Definitely give this fic a try.

As Expected, My Highschool Girl Debut is Wrong! by ZeroXSEED & GoukaRyuu

  • Recommended by Firkraag
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: A year after terrible car accident, Hikigaya Hachi, a freshman at Sobu High, has her high school debut. AU fic.
  • Link to [1]
  • Comments: Hikigaya is a girl. As you might expect, that changes quite a lot. Though Hikigaya Hachi is completely different person, from the one we all know (and love (to shout at in frustrations (or support))). While not particularly free of romantic tension, it's hard to tell on the particular shipping, or even which team Hachi would end up playing for, if you know what I mean. I would add more, but I'm afraid to spoil it. Well-written supporting cast of canon characters. – Firkraag.

Unmade by Sou BU

  • Recommended by Plague 11787
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: Graduation marks the end of youth and the end of the Service Club. The high school romantic comedy never plays out. Years pass, and a neurotic Hachiman serves as a detective in Tokyo amidst rising crime rates. He finds himself embroiled in a lawsuit after a confrontation with a felon turns deadly. If things weren't chaotic enough, his assigned lawyer was… Yukinoshita?
  • Comments: Hachiman is a no nonsense detective who still retains his cynical charm. The characters are well portrayed and there's a solid crime plot in addition to brief, but fulfilling moments of fluff between Yukino and Hachiman. Additionally, the author is very active in updating and interacting with reviewers.

My Trans Dimensional Overpowered Protagonist Harem Comedy Is Wrong, as Expected by Sage_Of_Eyes
  • Crossover with: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
  • Recommended by: Universalperson
  • Status: Dormant (last updated July 2017)
  • Synopsis: Hikigaya Hachiman, shortly after an odd Valentine's day, finds himself in a new world filled with magic, monsters, and gods. Though he knows not how he got there, he knows that the only way back to his home is through the Dungeon. Armed with a few tricks, a wholly unnatural affinity for magic, and his own, self-serving mindset, he just might manage to achieve his goal. Well, if he ever manages to get a party.
  • Comments: The alternative title would probably be something like "Is it Wrong to be a Snarky, Genre Savvy Teacher in the Dungeon?" Because that's what Hachiman becomes. Part of the fanfic's charm is Hachiman's narration; as already mentioned, he is gloriously snarky and genre savvy...but he's also an Unreliable Narrator. Which leads to a lot of complex characterization both for Hachiman and the Danmachi cast. Also plenty of humor, plenty of sad moments, plenty of entertainment and plenty of awesome from people you wouldn't expect that kind of awesome from. —Universalperson.

Logic Is My Sword by Itherael

My Life As An Overpowered MC Is Unexpectedly Right by smilingsamurai

  • Recommended by: Arusefu
  • Crossover with The DCU, To Love-Ru, High School DXD and more.
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Not once in his life did Hikigaya Hachiman ever consider himself special. High school passed by, without any of the routes he could have taken being fulfilled. That should have been the end. Little did he know, he was anything but ordinary, and his story was just beginning. And for some reason, familiar faces just kept coming back.
