Fanfic Recs / Hetalia: Axis Powers - General

Go To

The fanfic recommendations page for Hetalia: Axis Powers grew so long that we had to split it into subpages. This subpage is for general fics focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast, or pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance, crossover, or dark subjects.

You can add to the current recommendations if you want; please do remember that you need to use the template found here and sign your rec for it to stay on the page. Refrain from posting Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

He’s supposed to be sober now . . . but everyone knows love can be a drug. He might have a new lease on life, but the withdrawal of a lovesick heart could very well be the end of him.
  • Tags: Rock Band Au, Angst, Angst with a happy ending, Hurt/Comfort, Addiction + Mental Health Recovery, Risky behaviour. Disscussions of Self-Harm, Suicidal thoughts, past child abuse, and past cheating.
  • Coments: Despite this having a major romance element, this fic is really about Arthur making the transformation from washed up and burned out child star to an actual adult whose able to engage with others. The whole thing is spectacularly well written- Arthurs POV striking that perfect balance between deeply sympathetic and profoundly infuriating. He is FLAWED, deeply so, and the story isn't afraid to show us that- but at the same time, we can see why he is the way he is and why change is so hard for him to maintain. The addictive parts of his personality are addressed honestly and thoughtfully, and his happy ending is so well deserved.
