Proof that the remaining 10% is worth dying for here:

These are recommendations made by Tropers for Flashpoint, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be zapped. Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

And around in your heart and on through your blood by withdraw

  • Recommended by nebroadwe
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: After the events of "One Wrong Move", the team picks up the pieces and chooses a new team member.
  • Comments: Mere plot summary doesn't do this one justice. Individual characterizations are excellent, but what really shines is the team dynamic as everyone figures out how to cope with Lewis' death and fill his spot, if not his place. The scenes of Leah's recruitment, in particular, portray with telling insight the push-pull of not only finding but also accepting the right candidate for the job.

As Soon As I Am Able by Coneycat

  • Recommended by nebroadwe
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Leah is finding her place, Spike is trying to welcome her, and Jules needs someone to help with her yardwork.
  • Comments: This story features a highly amusing prankster Spike and the best "welcome to the team" joke on Leah ever, IMO. That it also manages to poignantly depict his grief over Lewis' death makes this 'fic a true winner.

A Father Is Born by FPinFC

  • Recommended by nebroadwe
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Dean studied his father's face. His mother had made this man seem larger than life in his supposed evil. And though Dean was very glad that the impression of evil was rapidly fading, he was sad to see the "larger than life" disappearing as well. His eyes appraised all the signs of middle age as only youth can see it, and he felt sorry for the man.
  • Comments: Telling Greg and Dean's first meeting (and the dinner that followed) from Dean's POV, this story really tugs on the heartstrings. Dean's evolving view of his father illuminates his character as much as it does Greg's, but honestly, I read this one for the hugs and tears.

Gravity by Playergurl 89

  • Recommended by Zephyr 7
  • Status: Dormant
  • Synopsis: When tragedy befalls Greg Parker, he must do something he wasn't quite ready to do not so long ago. Step down as sergeant of SRU Team One. Jules Callaghan, as Greg's protege, steps up to lead the team as well as support Greg as he fights a battle he can't win with his gift of words or even with a gun.
  • Comments: A great story where Parker is trying to wrap up everything before he steps down while at the same time, Jules (and the others) have to deal with the ramifications.

It's a Good Life if You Don't Weaken by Maya

  • Recommended by Zephyr 7
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: It started with bad news and went downhill from there. Might a neverending day prove to be Team One's worst enemy?
  • Comments: This story, on top of dealing with a very stressful, long shift, also deals with how the team, especially Spike, is coping with Lewis' death and how they move on. Great characterization and in-character interactions.

Make New Friends (But Keep the Old) by chocolatekettle

  • Recommended by nebroadwe
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Leah has been on the team for more than a month, but she's still not really a part of it. There have been no inventive, ridiculous pranks played, no early breakfasts coming off the night shift, no late night drinks. Ed, Prank Coordinator Extraordinaire and usually the first to buy the rookie a drink and bring them into the tight group that is Team One, hasn't pushed for that with Leah. He's been waiting for the team to settle into the new configuration. He's been watching the adjustments and compromises and overtures, friendly or otherwise. Lately, he's been watching Jules.
  • Comments: A great little 'fic about Jules and Spike bonding with Leah in the wake of "One Wrong Move"; the narration is chock-full of both snark and heart.

Perspective by FPinFC

  • Recommended by nebroadwe
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Post-"Keep the Peace", a troubling phone call from Team One's newest member interrupts Ed and Sophie's quiet evening together.
  • Comments: A fantastic look at the "policeman's lot" and how Ed and Sophie have learned at long last to manage the stresses of Ed's vocation. The author also depicts a realistic OC in the midst of an all-too-plausible crisis and has Ed suggest a solution that's equally as plausible, both as psychology and as characterization.

The Question by Rustler

  • Recommended by nebroadwe
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Jules was used to the question – practically everyone she knew had asked her at one point or another. She just didn't expect to hear it from the guy waving a 9mm in the middle of a Wal-Mart parking lot, surrounded by her team, dozens of spectators, and what felt like half the metro police.
  • Comments: A character analysis of Jules combined with the negotiation phase of a hot call, this 'fic is spot-on about the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated field. Jules/Sam is implied, but this story is very much a gen 'fic.

Renovations and Restorations by erinm_4600

  • Recommended by Zephyr 7
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Jules just wanted to renovate her home... not her whole life.
  • Comments: An absolutely adorable fic where Jules is rebuilding her life (and house) after she was shot and the rest of the team helping her renovate her house. The relationship between her and the boys was well written and just plain cute. Particularly with her, Greg and Ed.

Unsung by eviltwin

  • Recommended by Zephyr 7
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Greg has had an influence on everyone in the team, whether he knows it or not.
  • Comments: Just love how each team member highlights how important Parker is to every one of them.

Kira's Trials by Jeneral2885

  • Recommended by Skates
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Kira Marlowe joins Team One as a new SRU Officer.
  • Comments: A new Team One, post-Keep the Peace and a view into Kira as a SRU officer. Excellent.

Babycakes breaks down by Jeneral2885

  • Recommended by Jules Fan
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Winnie spoils Babycakes while cleaning her. Will this affect their relationship? Who is this new Team member who wants to snatch Spike away from her?.
  • Comments: Babycakes breaks down and thus Winnie and Spike get a strained relationship. Excellent tension.
