These are recommendations made by Tropers for Call of Duty Fan Fics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into sexual or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business. You can also add to the current recommendations if you want. Refrain from posting Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

Modern Warfare: Frozen Crossing (Part 1 and Part 2) by Corridor Digital with sound and effects by Freddie Wong.

  • Recommended by Jonn, JBridge
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: A fanvid of Modern Warfare, this features Ghost "Spectre" and "Dust" on their mission to find a CIA agent somewhere in Eastern Europe.
  • Comments: The series is known for its action-movie feel, and the videos preserve that perfectly. They even throw in a few Continuity Nods in there.

Modern War Gear Solid (Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 or the whole thing here) by Beat Down Boogie (Semi-AU crossover with Metal Gear)

  • Recommended by Gentlemens Dame 883
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Fanvid. When Makarov and Liquid Ocelot team up, Snake and Ghost are the only ones who can stop them.
  • Comments: A blend of parody with hilarious potshots at both series (with a major character from a third franchise joining the fray later) and compelling action.

The Legend of Spyro: World at War prolouge by The Dragon Spetznaz

  • Recommended by Idk12345678910
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: When a teleporter in Der Riese malfunctions, Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai all end up in the world of Spyro the Dragon.
  • Comments: It starts off slow, but everyone stays in character. The only problem I see with it is that there is an OC introduced that starts off a little overpowered. However, this is soon fixed.

Rangers Lead the Way, Никто, кроме нас! by DEFCON-0

  • Recommended by DongsFromAbove
  • Status: Dormant (last updated July 2017)
  • Synopsis: A delinquent medic with a tragic past and a shell-shocked Russian paratrooper just wanted to have normal lives. Neither of them know why they ended up on the front lines. They're two pawns fighting in a misguided war caused by the will of a single man. This crumbling world is where they discover that they really aren't the people they thought they were.
  • Pairings: OCxRamirez OCxFrost
  • Comments: Nothing special in the beginning but gets better as the story progresses. The reader will find themselves rooting for main characters Jenna Moore and Natalia Petrova in no time. It's not primarily a romance fic but contains an amount of shipping. Has a combination of combat action, behind-the-scenes drama, and flashbacks which delve into the backstories of each character. Also a fresh change from having females serve in the 141, instead we have the less-seen US Army Rangers and even a Russian main character. Author seems to know their stuff too. That is, he is decently versed in military knowledge. It seems to take plenty of influence from anime, and the author has even acknowledged this himself. The story itself spans more than 30 chapters and does not seem to be stopping anytime soon, so it may be a daunting read for those used to shorter stories.

Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

Caught In The System by Sassy Satsuma

  • Recommended by Eiram
  • Status: Dormant
  • Synopsis: 2nd Lt. Lara 'Bones' McCoy is a disillusioned medic attached to the British Parachute Regiment, Cpt. John Mactavish the troubled leader of the 141. But when a shock transfer throws the two together, both are tested in ways they could never have imagined.
  • Comments: A far cry from the typical "Woman in the 141" Mary Sues. Sassy writes a believable story with well-developed characters.
  • Ships: Soap/OC Ghost/OC

Alternative Title(s): Modern Warfare
