Synopsis: This was too far, way, way too far. She felt like she was going to be sick, there was no way this had happened, right? No way she’d become so invested in this stupid little game of hers and Anne’s that she’d actually… actually…

Anne’s body shook- no, twitched- violently. A sob pulling at her ribcage before cutting off in a pained wheeze. Sasha could only stare at the blood pooling beneath her feet.

She took a step forward, hand raised tentatively.

“A-Anne…. I-I-”

Their tongues look shriveled and fragile, like it's diseased. The town is rightfully wary, but the Plantars are learning to live with these oddities during the course of their human guest's stay in their household. But, even they can't get over how, sometimes, a human's eyes flashes blue.

What Once Was Yours Is Mine (My Baby's Gone) by mira_blue

  • Recommended By: Yami Vizzini
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Once, the Boonchuy home was full of life. Once, it was where - not one, not two, but three best friends practically grew up. That made its emptiness all the more painful.
  • Tags: Fluff, Angst, Growing Up, Family, Character Study, Minor Injuries, Friendship
  • Comments: A fascinating look at how not only the girls but their families bonded over the years, through the eyes of the Boonchuy parents. Plenty of sweet moments, but it also drives home just how traumatic the girls' unexpected trip was for those left behind. This feels like it could be actual backstory for the show.

Between the Beats by justburnitwithfire

  • Recommended by: spar10x
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: There were at least three months between when Anne and the Plantars were transported to Anne's world and before they returned back to Amphibia. For Anne, life was focused on balancing her frog family in her world while trying to get them back to theirs.

But for Sasha, it's trying to gather any army of frogs who aren't really sure if they can completely trust their new leader. It's trying to stay alive in a changing climate under the new and constant threats of violence from King Andrias. It's trying to come to terms with the things she's done and the person she desperately wants to be.

Three long, long months of fighting, surviving, and building something new to call home.

  • Tags: Angst, fluff, canon-compliant, Redemption Arc, Seemingly one-sided Sashanne
  • Comments: An excellent look at how the three months of Sasha building up the Wartwood resistance with Grime could have gone, it's biggest strength's are showing Sasha's growing relationship with the various Wartwood residents that we already know and love, while also giving us a good look at her introspection following True Colours and Turning Point. Anne's Journal by Kryten

  • Status: Complete; a sequel, "Dear Ivy" can be found here and here.
  • Synopsis: (Season 1) Now she finds herself in a world unknown, with the frogs and toads, and she's far from home. Anne's journey in her own words.

(Season 2) Season 2 begins! With the Plantars in tow, Anne hits the road to find her friends, a way home, and maybe herself. The continuation of Anne's story, in her own words.
  • Comments: Telling the story from Anne's POV, we're given her thoughts about her adventures and the lessons she learns during her time in Amphibia. Spoiler warning: any chapter where an episode focusing on Sasha takes place instead shows what she's doing during the events of Season 3A and what she takes away from reading the journal (AKA, the same journal she found in "Turning Point".)

But Anne won't let this opportunity pass by, and resolves to turn Marcy into the belle of the ball! And unbeknownst to everyone, a mysterious group is watching and plotting from the shadows...

One Small Change by 77Xfire. Also found here

  • Synopsis: Every decision you make could lead to an infinite amount of possibilities. Something as small as asking a simple question or not could snowball into something major. Sprig asking an innocent question after reaching the end of Quarreler's Pass is one of those things.
  • Pairing: Anne/Marcy
  • Comments: Being a What If? story, this focuses how such a question will both affect Anne and Marcy's friendship and change the events that would make up Season 2. What's even more impressive is the fact that the author only recently became a fan of the show and it still captures everything that make it so beloved.

After the Fight by Cecid8392003.

  • Recommended by: KrspaceT

  • Synopsis: Anne was nearly asleep when she woke up to the sound of something banging against her window. The first few times the sound - a thin but not loud "tic" - came, she chose to ignore it. It was warm under the covers. Domino was there too, sleeping curled up close to her owner's body. Maybe it was just a tiny summer bug trying to get in.
But when the little "tic" started to become a louder and more insistent "tic", Anne decided to see what it was all about; whatever it was, if it kept getting louder and louder, it would end up breaking the windowpane. So, sleepy and with her face puffed up, Anne got up and looked out.If she was physically capable of widening her eyes in the sleepy state she was in, Anne knew she was doing it at that instant.Or Anne wakes up in the middle of the night after Sasha gets into a fight, and the rest of the day is just the three girlfriends dealing with the consequences :)
  • Pairings: Anne/Sasha/Marcy
  • Comments: Probably the best post series Poly ship of the three calamity girls that is without too much angst while showing the three as fairly believably together. Still a bit angsty, but the best I've found as of March 2022.

The One Who Never Really Got Away by justburnitwithfire

  • Recommended by: spar10x
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: The five failed relationships that drove Anne to the one that was there all along.
  • Pairings: Anne/Sasha
  • Comments: A well-written fic that shows Anne going through life and finding different potential relationships, all while leading up to her realizing that she may have had the perfect partner with her all along. It's one of the best fics I've read that directly focuses on the Anne/Sasha pairing, and is a must for anyone who like that ship.
  • Now has a sequel, The One Who Never Left which is a perspective flip, showing the story from Sasha's POV.

Finding Family by 77xfire

  • The whole series can be found here
  • Recommended by: Magnus Force
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis:
    • Finding a Way: Family always finds each other. It was something that Hop Pop said on multiple occasions while Anne was still living with them. However, Sprig had made peace with the fact that he will probably never see her again... that won't stop him and Ivy from trying if given the chance.
    • Finding Each Other: Sprig and Ivy had successfully found a way back to Earth to reunite with Anne. However, a lot could change in thirteen years, and Sprig is about to find out just how much.
    • Finding the Words: A spinoff to Finding Each Other, this is the story of how Marcy ended up moving in with Anne, and how they got together.
  • Pairings: Sprig/Ivy, Anne/Marcy
  • Comments: The former is a prequel that sets up the events of the latter, with the second story directly picking up where the previous one left off. The third showcases the backstory behind Anne and Marcy being an item.

Disney's RealmWalkers by LumiTea (Crossover with Gravity Falls, The Owl House, others yet to be revealed )

  • Recommended By: Ad Impestra
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: When Heather and her wife Sasha Waybright discover a girl with mysterious, deadly powers, they find themselves dragged into the center of an inter-dimensional conflict with catastrophic implications for not only the Human Realm- but dozens, maybe hundreds of others as well.
  • Pairing(s): Sasha/an OC (who could very well be a fictional character from another franchise).
  • Tags: Fantasy, Sci-fi, Thriller, Mystery
  • Comments: I came across this fanfic by chance while I was browsing new arrivals, and it is quite simply one of the well-written fanfics of ANY fandom I've found online. The descriptions are vivid and transport you to this world, and the story, a Disney show by way of a police procedural, is intriguing. The connections to Amphibia (Sasha herself as a main character) are the strongest to any franchise thus far. As of Chapter 2, the fanfic suddenly becomes one of the most incredible, edge-of-your seat suspenseful fan-works I've ever read. The connections to other fandoms start showing up, the mystery deepens, and major characters are actually, and mercilessly, Killed Off for Real. Suffice to say, only two chapters in and so far it's nothing short of fantastic. It really does feel like what would happen if Disney Television Animation did a TV-14 series.

  • Status: Ongoing
  • Pairings: Anne/Marcy, Luz/Amity, Emira/Viney
  • Synopsis: Have you ever wondered what would happen if Luz wasn't able to save Eda in the final episode of Season 1 (Young Blood, Old Souls), but by an unknown force during her fight with Belos, would have been transported to Amphibia straight into the celebration of the reunion of Anne and Sasha?

If so, you can be happy because this question will be answered here along with the unforeseen consequences...
  • Has a tropes page here.
  • Comments: The story forces Luz out of action of several events in OH Season 2 in addition to the season 1 finale while also affecting how a good portion of Amphibia Season 2A turn out, one such event being putting Maddie in a starring role. It also leads to multiple changes regarding Anne's growth as a character.

  • Recommended by: Protogoji
  • Crossover with: Super Mario Bros. Z
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: A crossover with Super Mario Bros. Z where Anne finds herself stranded in the Mushroom World following the events of “True Colors”. With the Plantars separated from her and the odds of stopping King Andrias (and saving Sasha and Marcy) appearing ever more slim, Anne is on the verge of losing hope… until she meets and befriends none other than Sonic the Hedgehog. She soon finds herself roped into a new quest to collect the seven Chaos Emeralds and stop a powerful new enemy… Turbo Mecha Sonic. Basically, what if Anne was in SMBZ?
  • Comments: I was NOT proud of how my previous Amphibia/SMBZ crossover attempt turned out, so I’m in the middle of making this one as a spiritual replacement! This one takes more advantage of the potential Anne/Sonic dynamic, as well as showcase their characters in a way that’s as faithful to canon as possible while still acknowledging the traumatic events they’ve both been through. I’ve given this one far more thought and substance (with some help from another writer), so I hope this will turn out better for it in the end! But of course, there are still intense fight scenes between Anne and Mecha Sonic.

Sasha and the Frogs by Scrabbleauthor

  • Tropes page here
  • Synopsis: Being transported to another world filled with talking frog people might be the weirdest thing Sasha ever experienced, but at least she's got the Plantars to help her out. (A What If? AU story, featuring Sasha switching places with Anne.)
  • Comments: I absolutely adore Sasha, since it isn't often you get an example of a toxic friend in media that isn't put into a completely terrible light. Having her and Anne swap places really does a lot for the character, as you now get her receiving her Heel Realization earlier than in the show, as well as all the fun interactions that happen as a result of her more controlling personality and growing guilt playing off the residents of Wartwood.

Out of Tune by FoxOnPie

  • Recommended by: HighfalutinQuelea
  • Status: Dormant; last updated May 2021
  • Synopsis: A lot is needed to survive in Amphibia. For Sasha, she needs the strength to put up with everything weird and gross in Wartwood; for Anne, she needs enough heart to make her way through the hustle and bustle of Newtopia; and for Marcy, she needs the wits to break free of the chaos and darkness of Toad Tower. Roleswap AU where all of the girls end up in different places.
  • Comments: Similar to the Shuffle AU, it strands Sasha with the Plantars, Anne in Newtopia and Marcy with the Toads. Love the humorous writing style. The author hasn't had this ambitious a project, but it is a promising start, especially since it's their debut Amphibia fic.

  • Synopsis: The last thing that Anne expected when she opened that music box was to be transported to a strange, alien world. Luckily, her friends, Sasha and Marcy, were transported right next to her. In fact, they arrived only a few feet away; and not, as one might expect, outside of a military installation and the heart of the capital, respectively. Now, trapped deep in the jungles and swamps of Amphibia, Anne and her friends must brave the wilds in search of a way home, together. Anne isn't worried though. With Marcy's brains, Anne's strength, and Sasha's silver tongue, there's no challenge ahead that could break their bonds of friendship. At least, that's what Anne wants to believe.
  • Comments: Pretty well crafted fanfic that gives and interesting scenario for if all three girls ended up together in Amphibia. The author is pretty solid with the dynamics of Sasha, Anne, and Marcy and how things go a bit different with all three together.

  • Comments: This story explores an interesting take on an AU that if often not utilised by the Amphibia fandom: the evil Marcy AU, known by the author as the "Quisling Marcy AU," named after Vidkun Quisling, the Norwegian politician and military officer who collaborated with the Nazi German military during its occupation of Norway in World War II. The author does an incredible job of going in-depth into the deep-seated jealousy and anger that exists in Marcy, something that is only amplified by her fully accepting the darkness after she aligns herself with Andrias.

  • Now has a sequel - An Alchemist Abroad (Ongoing)

This is an AU where the calamity trio ended up in swapped starting locations in Amphibia, primarily following Marcy and her adapting to life in Wartwood.

  • Comments: A swap fic where Marcy ends up in Wartwood instead of Anne. Despite only having two chapters as of this writing (and some grammatical errors), it already shows great promise. The author has worked to differentiate the story from canon and is clearly not just going to be a rehashing of the show's events with Marcy shoehorned into Anne's role.

  • Synopsis: What if Marcy didn’t find the Calamity box on Anne’s Birthday? How would things of gone if they didn’t go to Amphibia that day? Sometimes, questions are best left unanswered. Spinoff of One Small Change.
  • Pairing: Anne/Marcy
  • Comments: A What If? of a What If? story, this is a darker take of the series as it focuses on Marcy's home life and shows what would happen if she suffered a lot more than her friends wish. Like its predecessors, Anne and Marcy's relationship is the core of it all with Sasha serving as the foundation of it.
  • Spinoff to the Fourth Light Series.
  • Currently has an unpublished sequel planned

  • Synopsis: The Three-Stones-Deity is not infallible. In ten thousand years of existence, only once had someone used their stones for good. That lone person had further still proved their thinking flawed upon being offered what was essentially godhood. They had even undershot their corporeal representation by a few decades for Frog’s sake. So it was not exactly a surprise when there was a minor hiccup with returning Anne Boonchuy to Amphibia. As promised, the Three-Stones-Deity did return her to the world she loved so dearly, but then why was it so different than she remembered? Remnants of the Core are not raining down on Amphibia. Her closest friends and frog family are nowhere to be seen when they were surely gathered around her just moments ago. Newtopia has been fully rebuilt… and it’s five years later?!

Or, the Three-Stones-Deity messed up when sending Anne back to Amphibia. Instead of returning her immediately, they accidentally placed her five years into the future.

Almost There | Sashanne Princess and the Frog AU by Jalapeno Bella (Insecurity Jacket)

  • Recommended by: SuperYoshiFan02
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: Anne Boonchuy is a hardworking girl who just wants to achieve her dreams of owning a restaurant. Sasha Waybright wants to live freely without being held down by royal expectations. All it takes is one night and a small kiss to turn both worlds upside down.
  • Pairing: Anne/Sasha
  • Comments: A fic where Amphibia characters fill roles from The Princess and the Frog: Anne as Tiana, Sasha as Naveen, Marcy as Charlotte, Andrias as Dr. Facilier, etc. This is listed under Alternate Universe fics and not Crossovers because none of the Princess and the Frog Characters appear, it's just the Amphibia characters filling their roles.

Age of Calamity AU by Steve_from_Minecraft

  • Synopsis: This is an Amphibia AU where what if the Deity let the girls keep the full gems rather than just give them a small shard that they could only use once, that way they could then extract the powers from the gems and continue to use the powers to protect Earth, however, an old foe has returned with a vengeance.
  • Comments: The series' grammar isn't perfect, as can be seen from the synopsis, but the series is worth reading for its plot.

The Plantar Family Pet by TomatoBaster

  • Recommended by: Dark Hououmom
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: A young frog finds a monster injured in the woods and he takes it upon himself to care for it with the help of his family, turning it into the family pet. But what they don’t realize, is that this monster should NOT be kept as a pet.
  • Comments: An excellent what-if story diverging from episode 1. This story indulges in the question of what would have happened if Wally's beast claims had far more dire consequences and crafts a compelling alternate tale of girls lost in a far colder and crueler world where almost everyone is out to get them.

  • Synopsis:
    • Paint Me In Trust: Marcy’s faced with a difficult choice. Should she accept the King’s proposition and betray her friends, or should she betray the King and put her very life on the line? After a talk with Lady Olivia, she sets off to find Sasha in order to bring her friends together and out of Amphibia. But Sasha may not even want to leave, and Anne might be just a little harder to get to this time around.
    • I'll Be Your Best Friend: After the events of the previous day, the girls and all their amphibian friends attempt to adjust to living together without trying to kill each other. It’s a process. Marcy and Yunan want to return to Newtopia to rescue Lady Olivia, Grime and Sasha want to overthrow the king, and Anne’s trying to get them to realize they can do both. With a new internal threat on the loose and time running out quickly, can they make it without losing anyone?
    • Call Me The One: Sasha is crowned Queen, but at what cost?
    • This Night Just Can't End: TBA
  • Comments: Very long and full of rich original lore, but very enjoyable! I've been following it for years now, and it's really enjoyable—sometimes I feel like I'm reading an original story instead of fanfic when reading this, the characters and events are very fleshed-out.
