Fanfic / Wormholes? Yeah, we can do Wormholes

Go To

Wormholes? Yeah, we can do Wormholes is a Danny Phantom and Stargate SG-1 crossover by aajjww121, where Jack Fenton and General Hammond are cousins. A genius Jazz and Danny manage to detect the Stargate in the base and trade the coordinates of a site they've located in Antarctica in exchange for getting read into things. The rest, as they say, is history.

  • Adaptational Gender Identity: Danny in canon was implicitly a cisgender male. Here they're genderfluid instead.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Both Danny and Jazz are explicitly geniuses in this story. While offscreen, Sam and Tucker also contribute a lot.
  • Foreshadowing: At the reunion, Danny mentions that Jack and Maddie will be so excited to hear about the cover story for the program that the older Fentons won't even read the contract before signing. A couple of chapters later, we learn that the siblings had engineered things so that Hammond is officially their legal guardian regardless of how long the program goes on.
  • Impossible Genius: The Fentons, with Hammond particularly reflecting upon this regarding Jack. Their tech should not work, but it does, and is in many ways lightyears ahead of what anyone else has. A lot of the initial major developments are from Danny and Jazz have put together themselves, but then Sam starts adapting what Jack and Maddie have invented, except not running on ectoplasm; starting with energy shielding.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Jack Fenton and George Hammond are cousins in this story.
  • Teen Genius: Both Jazz and Danny are geniuses in this story. They are both easily capable of matching and even exceeding the intellectual feats of the Stargate Command brainiacs like Daniel. Sam and Tucker are also fairly intelligent.
  • Tempting Fate: One of the technicians for the X-301 project says that he had a good feeling about their prototype. Cut to the next chapter, where a recall device accidentally built into the ship nearly gets O'Neill and Teal'c killed offscreen just as in canon, leading to the project's cancellation.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: The members of the SGC increasingly become aware of the degree to which Danny and Jazz were forced to shoulder adult responsibilities at far too young ages. Including running a multi-million corporation which makes numerous tech advances.
