Go To

12 Days of Smashmas is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fanfic by Killered500. Exactly What It Says on the Tin, it's basically a Smash Bros. Christmas Special, or twelve of them to be exact.

12 Days Of Smashmas contains examples of:

  • Bad Liar: Leaf says that Red has "scurvy" when he coughs to get out of kissing her. Scurvy of all things.
  • Big "NO!": The other Smashers in the cafeteria after Pac-Man tells Mario that they should start singing “Jingle Bells, Wario-man smells” again.
  • Black Comedy: Olimar remarks about how mistletoe is a parasitic plant, and Peach is horrified by this. This is never mentioned again.
  • Chimney Entry: Mario (As Santa) enters the mansion this way in "Santa-Mario".
  • Dramatic Irony: Ness is a bit jealous of Marth’s innocence in “Innocent Hearts”; however, it’s also shown that Marth isn’t exactly innocent either.
  • Drunken Song: A completely wasted Mario and Pac-Man are singing a Smash version of "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells" all throughout "Oh, No, the Mistletoe!".
  • Everyone Is Christian at Christmas: Of course, despite not being Christian most of the time, or mostly coming from words where Christianity doesn't even exist, everyone celebrates Christmas. Though, it is shown that new characters like Chrom don't know about it, and almost all of them are unaware of the tradition of kissing Under the Mistletoe.
  • Growing Up Sucks: In “Innocent Hearts”, Ness laments his loss of innocence at an early age.
  • Happily Married: Marth and Caeda, Roy and Lilina, Robin and Lucina, and Olimar and his wife at the very least.
  • Harmless Electrocution: Averted. Chrom gets hospitalized with electricity burns after he gets electrocuted trying to turn the Christmas light display on. Since he's been hit with electricity before though, he survives and wakes up the same day.
  • Hopeless with Tech: To Chrom, quite understandably, even the idea of plugging in lights is a foreign concept.
  • Kissing Under the Influence: A one-sided example Played for Laughs. Mario kisses Bowser's snout, thinking he was Peach. Bowser just goes Screw This, I'm Outta Here out of disgust.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Pit and Samus in this series. So they are both grossed out when they find a sprig of mistletoe hovering over them.
  • Likes Older Women:
    • Gender-inverted with Felicia the Pink Villager. She's apparently been going after Ike for years.
    • Pit also apparently enjoyed getting kissed by Phosphora. Granted, he's physically older than he looks, but still.
  • Mall Santa: The Villager sneaks away from buying gifts with Fox to meet one in "Mall Troubles".
  • Multi-Part Episode: "Oh, No, The Mistletoe" was so long, it was split up into two chapters.
  • Musicalis Interruptus: Mario and Pac-Man collapse before finishing their song in "Oh, No, The Mistletoe", so Joker finishes it for them. After getting a sneaky picture of Mario kissing Bowser's snout.
Ren (Joker) : And the Joker got away...
  • Noodle Incident: Something involving "last year's... incident" when Pac-Man and Mario had too much eggnog.
  • Oblivious to Love: To quote Ness, Ike's "as dense as concrete". He couldn't see Felicia's crush on him if it hit him in the head. He even misses/completely forgets the description of mistletoe Peach gave him.
  • Over The Top Christmas Decorations: In "Christmas Blights", Mega Man says that if completed, their Christmas display can be seen from space. Well, it turns out they're defective.
  • Overworked Sleep: Isabelle falls asleep after finishing her present in "A Very Isabelle Christmas". Though she does it after it is finished.
  • Precocious Crush: Felicia on Ike.
  • Princess Phase: Apparently Felicia is going through one, and is convinced Ike is her Knight in Shining Armor.
  • Punny Name: The Wii Fit Trainer's name is "Welma Fitt".
  • Puppy Love: Red and Leaf kiss in "Oh, No, The Mistletoe!". Though it's implied that their Pokemon made them do it.
  • Rapid-Fire "No!": Pit does this after finding mistletoe over his and Samus's heads.
    Pit: Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope!
  • Santa Ambiguity:
    • In "Mall Troubles", Fox blurts out that Santa doesn't exist. Villager covers for him though, saying that Fox doesn't know any better because he's a fox. Though Santa's existence is left ambiguous in the end.
    • "Santa-Mario" is this from the perspective of the children; Bowser tries to prove that Santa is Mario in a costume. He fails.
    • In "Innocent Hearts", Marth is going to deliver a letter to Santa; Ness, despite being much younger, doesn't believe in Santa, symbolizing their innocence levels. However, once again, his existence is never confirmed or disproven.
  • Santa's Existence Clause: In “Innocent Hearts”, the setup to this is present; Marth, despite his age, believes in Santa. Ness wants to believe, but due to his circumstances can’t (and the Inklings are also too old to believe in Santa). However, Santa's existence itself is left, like in other chapters, up in the air.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: How Marth is portrayed.
  • Shipper on Deck: Peach. Though most of the couples she gets to kiss are already established.
  • Sliding Scale of Idealism vs. Cynicism: Very much on the idealistic slide. Most of the characters are kind and good-hearted (except for the bad guys, but even not all of them are bad), and in the end everything is about Christmas cheer.
  • Song Parody: A parody of a parody; Mario and Pac-Man in a drunken stupor sing a parody of “Jingle Bells, Batman smells” (though it’s implied that the last lyric was wrong). Robin gets teased about him laying eggs, of course.
    Jingle Bells, Wario-man smells
    Robin laid an egg!
  • Starboarding: Felicia has a major crush on Ike. Obviously he doesn't reciprocate it.
  • Still Believes in Santa: Marth, despite being a young adult, still believes in Santa Claus. In contrast, the much younger Ness is Wise Beyond His Years and does not.
  • Technobabble: Mega Man rattles off a bunch of this to Chrom in "Christmas Blights". Granted, its possible it just sounds like technobabble to Chrom.
  • Under the Mistletoe: Obviously, the whole premise of "Oh, No, The Mistletoe!"
  • You Didn't See That: Samus says this to the Melee Fire Emblem duo and their wives in response to the mistletoe above her and Pit after she shoots it. They agree.
