Go To

Five things Austria and Hungary shared with the world, four moments they kept to themselves, three times they said nothing, two times Hungary needed Austria, and one time Austria did something about it.

Tizenöt is an Hetalia: Axis Powers fanfic focusing on Austria and Hungary. Or rather, it's a series of 15 one-shot though interconnected stories revolving around different moments in their lives, starting off with their marriage in 1867. But as each successive chapter reveals, there's more behind the two nations than what they show to the rest of the world...

This Fan Fic contains examples of:

  • Action Girl: Hungary has signs of this, though more subdued.
  • Amicable Exes: The chapters gradually reveal how Austria and Hungary became amicable and intimate with each other long after their marriage ended.
  • Anachronic Order: Like Hetalia, the one-shots take place at different time periods. With the exception a few, nearly all of them are not in chronological order.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Tizenöt means "fifteen" in Hungarian. It's also a reference to the 15 one-shots that make up the fic.
  • Bittersweet Ending: A recurring trend in the stories though for different reasons.
  • Broken Bird: Hungary becomes this over the course of the stories, though she does get better. The same can be said for Austria.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The wedding rings from the 1867 Augsliech count. Both of which show up at the very last fic, set in 1989, symbolizing how Austria and Hungary still remained "faithful" to their vows.

  • Genius Bonus: The stories begin with quotes from Shakespeare that fit the theme of each individual fic.
  • Happily Married: Subverted. While the two nations really did love each other and tried to make it work, the fallout of World War I made it all the more difficult for both of them.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: In an attempt to make their divorce easier, Austria deliberately tried to act like an aloof Jerkass to Hungary. He would come to regret that.
  • Law of Inverse Fertility: Hungary so much wanted to have Austria's baby. A miscarriage however shatters both of them.
  • Like a Son to Me: Both Austria and Hungary treat Germany like the child they never and for a while, almost had.
  • Not So Stoic: Austria isn't quite as sternly composed when intoxicated or in private with Hungary.
  • R-Rated Opening‎: Inverted. The stories start out innocuously enough but progressively become more mature in tone to the point that the last story has an explicit, drawn out sex scene between Austria and Hungary.
  • Advertisement:
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: This is implied to have happened to Germany after his stint as the Holy Roman Empire.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Neither Austria nor Hungary appreciate Prussia's constant barging, yet don't really mind him anyway.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: It's strongly implied that Prussia has (one-sided) feelings for Hungary, but ultimately decides to let go, if only so she can be happy with Austria one day.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Many of the stories involve moments known only to the two nations.
