"I feel like I've just recovered from a wild LSD high," I moaned, reeling back and forth. "Thank StarClan this chapter is only filler that the author wrote because he was bored and this'll all be over soon."

The Third ShadowClan Reich is a Warriors fanfiction published on fanfiction.net by VolcanicPizza. The plot follows a Fanfiction troll named Luke who is turned into a cat in the Warrior Clans. A byproduct of this is that his memory is erased until he is apprenticed so that he doesn't mess things up the way StarClan wants him to. However, the instant he regains his memory he goes on to royally screw Warriors history up by giving ShadowClan guns and literacy, erasing Dovewing from existence, and generally causing confusion and chaos.

The story was originally called "The Inception of Trollololol" before the author decided that it didn't fit with the nature of the story and changed it.

The Third ShadowClan Reich contains examples of:

  • Alien Space Bats: The whole premise is this. Although the author himself states that he's tried to make it harder alternate history following Snakekit's intrusion.
  • Alternate History: Oh, yes. Everything about this trope applies here.
  • Adaptational Badass: Hollypaw, as in this altered world she will have powers because of Snakepaw's meddling and it's implied that she'll become leader.
    • Jaypaw also gets in on this trope during the conversation scene with Snakepaw near the Moonpool.
  • Anti-Hero: Snakepaw is definitely this, considering his trolly nature. He's sort of a combination of a Pragmatic Anti-Hero and a Unscrupulous Hero.
  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: Snakepaw is hinted to be turning ShadowClan into this. There are several Nazi references; for instance, he does a Nazi salute before the invasion of RiverClan, his sister Redkit later mockingly echoes his earlier salute and shouts "Heil Snakekit," prompting the rest of the Clan to start saying it, although not in a mocking way, and the "Battle of Alsace-Lorraine Minor" was outright stated to be an Expy of a WWII battle in which ShadowClan takes the role of the Nazis. In his life as a Twoleg Luke also seemed to be a little racist.

  • Big Badass Battle Sequence: The scene where Snakekit commands ShadowClan's warriors to invade RiverClan in what is mockingly referred to as the "Battle of Alsace-Lorraine Minor." Considering that all the RiverClan cats have is their claws and teeth and the ShadowClanners have a freaking gunpowder trebuchet, it just isn't fair.
  • The Chosen One: Subverted; StarClan originally turns Luke into a cat to redeem his species for what they've done to the Clans, but once he accidentally regains his memory he decides that he is going to change everything just because he's a troll.
    • Possibly Hollyleaf. Snakepaw's already singled her out to lead ThunderClan, after all.
      • But isn't intervening in the affairs of other Clans against the warrior code?
Snakepaw: There's nothing about <insert activity here> in the warrior code.
  • Cute Kitten: Luke after he becomes Snakekit. When a Twoleg policeman presumably is endeared by his adorableness when he's doing a raid on a Twoleg house, Snakepaw thanks him by shooting him. Although he does, sort of, apologize afterwards.
  • Decoy Protagonist: It's been implied at one point that Snakepaw is this and Hollyleaf is the actual protagonist.

  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Raggedstar puts Snakepaw through a mysterious dream sequence showing a definitely weird future. Then it's lampshaded when he admits that the author will probably have to Retcon it for continuity or leave as is for the lolz, breaking the fourth wall.
  • Filler: Only a few chapters are filler, but when they are it is always actively lampshaded.
  • Fix Fic: Can be regarded as this in some aspects, although Leopardstar's assassination probably rules out some of this.
  • For the Evulz: Snakepaw contemplates taking over most of RiverClan and establishing Vichy RiverClan for this reason.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: Used on the author. After the author uses repetitive sentence use during a dream sequence, Snakepaw jumps out of the computer and attacks the author. Judging by what we can hear in between the "automated voice" that plays, what's happening isn't pretty but is probably funny.
Snakepaw: SCREW YOU, AUTHOR! STOP STARTING AND ENDING SO MANY SENTENCES THE SAME FRICKIN' WAY! IT'S LIKE YOU DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT-
    • *brzt*
Automated voice: Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties. Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties.
Narration: A loud yowling sounds in the background as Snakepaw bursts from the computer with intent to seriously mutilate the author for daring to downgrade his style for humor. Luckily, the author keeps an old metal baseball bat in his room for security reasons. You never know when the undead will come knocking at your door... It's strange that nobody else in the house is noticing this confrontation. Then again, nobody ever notices anything in this world till the problem is biting their rear off.
Automated voice: Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties. Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties.
Narration: The sounds of a furious fight can be heard in the distance. It seems that the author is winning, largely because Snakepaw forgot his gun. However, Snakepaw does have waffles through the assistance of the gods of MLG. Waffles will not help in this situation, though. This is because the author is in the middle of a growth spurt and needs as much nourishment as he can get.
Automated voice: Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties. Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties.
Narration: The sound of a kitten being forcibly stuffed back inside the internets where he came from is heard. Damn, the author's lack of creativity is lagging over even into this... thing. Whatever this thing is.
Automated voice: Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having technical difficulties. Please excuse this interruption. The main character is having- The main character is back online. Thank you for your patience.
  • Hilarity Ensues: This trope is done to death by the author. Here's a few examples:
    • In the first chapter, Luke's younger brother Albert comes racing into the room whining that he broke his toy lightsaber. Luke proceeds to tell him that that's what he gets for dueling Vader with Chinese merchandise, then informs him that the problem is that he has a screw loose... in his head.
    • Every single time Snakekit/Snakepaw breaks the fourth wall.
    • When Snakekit calls his sister Redkit a "dickface", and she responds in kind.
    • When Snakekit says that "le wild Redkit derped in." He then realizes that the reader doesn't like people using "le," "herp," and "derp," and proceeds to fill an entire chapter with only those words.
    • Snakekit tries to do a Nazi salute and fails because his foreleg can't reach high enough.
    • Snakekit's monologue before the Big Badass Battle Sequence.
    • Snakepaw acts disrespectfully in all of the StarClan dream sequences, calling Raggedstar "Raggy" and referring to Sagewhisker as "that white she-cat." Later, he refers to Nighstar as a "black tom" and notes that he isn't sure of his identity, although he can't think of any other black ShadowClan toms. He then realizes how racist this sounds and hastily attempts to amend this.
    • Snakepaw's monologue at the beginning of Chapter 12.
    • Snakepaw's explanation to StarClan about what Hollyleaf's power should be, followed by his battle with the author.
  • Idiosyncratic Episode Naming: The chapter titles. Currently, they are:
    • Chapter 1: I Act Racist
    • Chapter 2: I Die
    • Chapter 3: Rage
    • Chapter 4: Le Wild Herp Derp
    • Chapter 5: I Go to Narnia
    • Chapter 6: Blackstar Is A Pussy
    • Chapter 7: Dammit, Fernheart!
    • Chapter 8: Heil Snakekit!
    • Chapter 9: StarClan Force-Feeds Me LSD
    • Chapter 10: A Timeskip, Object and I Eat Your Face
    • Chapter 11: Not A Trollfic Anymore
    • Chapter 12: Hollypaw is Granted Emergency Powers
    • Chapter 13: The Three Are Terrible Spies
    • Chapter 14: The Author Is A Twat (Hey!)
    • Chapter 15: The Useless Filler Chapter
  • Implied Love Interest: Snakepaw certainly seems obsessed with making sure Hollyleaf doesn't get the short end of the stick in the new timeline...
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: What StarClan does to Luke before placing him in a kitten's body.
  • Lemony Narrator: Both Snakekit/paw's and the author's narration are hilarious.
  • Meddling Parents: Fernheart.
  • Memory Gambit: StarClan erases Luke's memories so he doesn't recall his memories before he's matured enough to deal with the knowledge that they basically killed him and sticks him in a kitten's body. Parts of his memories start resurfacing, however, and after he accidentally regains his memory ahead of time he decides to get a sort of revenge by introducing multiple aspects of human culture such as guns and writing, as well as attempting to change Warriors history for the better.
  • My Beloved Smother: Fernheart. She isn't so beloved by Snakepaw, though, who considers her an annoyance that isn't even his real mother.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero!: Snakepaw's introduction of guns to this world causes Leopardstar to be assassinated.
  • Reality Ensues: When Snakekit goes to Blackstar to tell him about his plans to make guns. Blackstar dismisses him initially until Snakekit sneaks into a Twoleg den to bring back a gun.
  • Self-Deprecation: Used on the author over, and over, and over...
  • Self-Insert Fic: Initially subverted and then deconstructed. Although Snakekit might seem like a self-insert (and this is a similar situation to how many Warriors self-insert fics start), once he regains his memories he quickly turns this trope on its head as he acts in ways that no true Warriors fan would by disrupting every aspect of their lives. Although he does kill Ashfur and get Hollyleaf to have powers, and it's implied that she'll become leader in the altered timeline.
  • Shout-Out: Quite a few of these, although most of them are veiled.
    • There are multiple shout-outs to Undertale, with the recurring theme of determination.
    • At one point, Snakepaw accidentally falls over on the Gathering island and gets rocks in his side. At this point, he says, "You've got to be kidding me. I'm a goddamn prickly pear," in what is apparently a perfect combination of the voices of the characters who say these lines.
    • In one chapter, Snakepaw references Lest Darkness Fall in relation to his situation.
    • Snakepaw also makes a few FNAF references here and there.
  • This Is My Boomstick: Snakekit and his guns. Although nobody thinks it's a good idea until he proves to them how damaging they are.
  • Time Skip: Lampshaded by the chapter title. (A Timeskip, Object and I Eat Your Face.)
  • Trolling Creator: VolcanicPizza is definitely this. He even admits to it when he intrudes on one of the scenes in Chapter 12. Hilarity Ensues.
