The Myth of Link and Zelda is a series of fanmade novelizations of the The Legend of Zelda franchise. The original three novelizations cover the games in the setting of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, including Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The original three stories are a subseries of the author's greater crossover universe, the Marvel Fanfiction Universe, which crosses over DC, Marvel, and Nintendo characters alike. However, the PDF version of Breath of the Wild removes the crossover elements present. After the announcement of Tears of the Kingdom, the author decided to expand the series beyond three stories, and decided to make this series only partially canon to the other series.
The series serves as a more mature and darker adaptation of the relatively light-hearted, if serious-oriented games in the franchise. The result is an adaptation that remains faithful to the content of the games while diverging in some significant ways, and connecting to other games in ways that dramatically change the outcome of the stories. It makes use of Pragmatic Adaptation and Adaptation Distillation to retell the stories in a novelized format.
