The Hazards of Amity
is a Naruto Alternate Universe Fic by firefly. It takes a different route from Canon and deals with a reality where Itachi survives his battle with Sasuke and both return to village. In stead of living a miserable existence in Konoha, Itachi instead undergoes emotional turmoil in Suna when working with Temari.
Author's summary: Kill the family. Leave the village. Wait to die. That had always been the plan. But when that system fails somewhere between surviving and undergoing emotional overhaul in Suna, even Uchiha Itachi is starting to believe the universe has it in for him.

- Action Girl: Temari
- Alternate Universe Fic: This fanfic and canon have several differences, the biggest being that Itachi survives his original battle with Sasuke at the Uchiha hideout and both brothers are back in the village before the war begins. Temari's comments toward Itachi make it clear that he was essential in the war effort.
- Elemental Powers: Temari is wind, while Itachi is Fire. This makes for an interesting teaching moment for the young students that Temari is teaching.
- Sibling Team: Gaara is the Kazekage, but all three Sand siblings work together and rely on each for work and personal advice.
