Temporal Theory
is a Star Wars fanfic by queen_silvers.An alternate ending to 4x13: The World Between Worlds, in which Ezra Bridger does not heed Ahsoka's warning regarding the prevention of his master Kanan Jarrus's death, and creates a time paradox as a result. The World Between Worlds then sends Ezra, Ahsoka, Luke, Leia, Kanan, Jacen, Rey, and a teenaged Ben Solo to the year 20 BBY so that they can fix the timeline. They meet up with several characters, including Anakin, young Ahsoka, Caleb Dume, and Obi Wan Kenobi.
It gets complicated.
Temporal Theory contains examples of:
- Alternate Self: Ahsoka meets hers, and it's mentioned that Kanan has a counterpart as well.
- Ascended Extra: In Star Wars Rebels, Jacen is only featured in one scene, and doesn't have any speaking lines. Here he is a main character.
- Broken Pedestal: Pretty much everyone towards Anakin, barring the twins, Rey, and Ahsoka.
- The Confidant: Ben Solo of all people, to Jacen.
- Family Eye Resemblance: A variation. Jacen has the same eye color of the Loth-wolf Dume, who is implied to be connected to Kanan's spirit.
- Future Badass: While young!Ahsoka is already a Little Miss Badass in her own right, she views her older counterpart as this.
- Internal Reveal:
- Only Luke, Leia, Rey, and adult!Ahsoka know that Anakin will become Vader.
- Anakin telling young!Ahsoka about his connection to the twins.
- Only Jacen and Ben know for certain that Kanan is the former's father. Luke and Leia heavily suspect this, however, and Ezra quickly figures it out.
- Kid from the Future: Ben is this to Leia, who along with Luke is this to Anakin and Padmé. Jacen is this to Kanan as well.
- Luke, You Are My Father: Ironically, Luke does this to Anakin, and Ben does it to Leia.
- Place Beyond Time: The World Between Worlds, of course.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: The group's purpose in a nutshell.
- Supernaturally Young Parent: Anakin, Padmé, Leia, and Kanan. The former two also qualify as Supernaturally Young Grandparents.
