Storm Clouds and Grey Skies
is a fanfic loosely based on Harvest Moon DS Cute.
Claire is the new girl in Mineral Town. She's a quiet farmer who has only just moved a year prior. Being new to the town, Claire is treated like an outsider by others. She feels nervous around her neighbors and keeps to herself. One day while crying about her loneliness by the beach, she met a mermaid named Leia. That's how their relationship began.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Dead Fic: The story was near its end when it stopped updating after the 10th chapter. It hasn't updated since January 2012.
- Humanity Ensues: Leia suddenly turns human due to a botched spell by the Witch Princess.
- Gender Flip: Claire's dog is female instead of male.

- Slash Fic: Storm Clouds and Grey Skies pairs together Leia and Claire, though it originally planned as a platonic fanfic. Technically, the two are able to become "best friends", but only in the Japanese version of the game.
