This fic provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Expansion: The series goes into greater details about the culture of the wizarding world and magical history.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Harry's full first name is actually Hadrian, but he tends to stick to Harry.
  • Army of Lawyers: The Black family lawyers for Harry, who is the heir, and later lord of the Black family.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • Daphne Greengrass, whose name is mentioned once in canon, ends up becoming a main character from Book 2 onwards. Near the end of Book 2 she becomes Harry's girlfriend.
    • Theodore Nott, who has one named appearance in canon, ends up being given canon!Draco's 6th year plot. We get multiple point of views of him throughout the school year.
  • Asshole Victim: The majority of the Death Eaters, alongside Voldemort himself. Yet, Dolores Umbridge probably takes the top spot.
  • Back from the Dead: Harry manages to resurrect Bill Weasley shortly after he gets hit with the killing curse in exchange for loosing the incarnations of his parents.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Gender-flipped with Nymphadora Tonks and Fleur Delacour, who act this way towards Harry Potter.
  • Chick Magnet: There are multiple women over the course of the story who all show varying degrees of interest in Harry Potter, including Ginny Weasley, Hermione Granger, Bellatrix Lestrange, Padma Patil, Gabrielle Delacour, and Daphne Greengrass.
  • Death by Adaptation: Dolores Umbridge, Lucius Malfoy, Dennis Creevey.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation:
    • Sirius Black gets killed by Nagini after taking Arthur Weasley's guard duty shift outside the Hall of Prophecy.
    • Peter Pettigrew gets killed by Remus Lupin when Theodore Nott lets a group of Death Eaters into Hogwarts during 6th year.
    • Dobby gets killed during the final Battle of Hogwarts.
    • Ted Tonks gets killed by Bellatrix Lestrange during the final Battle of Hogwarts.
  • The Dreaded: Both Voldemort and Harry Potter to their enemies.
  • Familiar: After Hedwig is murdered, Harry takes a Runespoor as a familiar. He names each head Hecate, Selene, and Artemis. He also later bonds with Fawkes.
  • Eye Scream: Thorfinn Rowle releases a magical parasite into Tracey Davis' eye, leaving her screaming in agony. Harry manages to extract the parasite before Tracey is killed, but she's still left blinded in one eye.
  • For Want Of A Nail: In canon, Arthur Weasley was attacked by Nagini late in the evening whilst standing guard outside the Hall of Prophecy. In this story, Sirius Black was a free man, and chose to take Arthur's place. With the horcrux in Harry's scar being removed by this point, and therefore loosing his connection to Voldemort and Nagini, Harry didn't know about the attack and couldn't warn anyone in time in order to save Sirius' life.
  • Hate Plague: One of the main plot points of the first half of Book 1 is that the horcrux in Harry's scar makes 99% of the people around him treat him terribly. Once the horcrux is removed the majority of them feel awful for how they treated him.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Most of the students at Hogwarts act this way towards Harry for the first 4 years of his schooling. Granted, the majority of them are thanks to the horcrux in his scar, and proceed to feel awful about how they treated him once its removed. The rest are children or relatives of Death Eaters, and hate him for taking down Voldemort as a baby.
  • Kinslaying Is a Special Kind of Evil: Bellatrix kills both her brother-in-laws, Rabastan Lestrange and Ted Tonks, and her niece, Nymphadora Tonks.
  • Loony Fan: Bellatrix Lestrange for Harry, at least once she finds out he's both the pureblooded grandson of Gellert Grindelwald and Lycoris Black, and watches him force Voldemort to retreat. She ends up carving a scar on her head to match Harry's signature scar, along with attempting to murder anyone she doesn't consider worthy of her "Dark Prince", such as Ginny Weasley.
  • Odd Friendship: Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy become friends during their 5th year at Hogwarts. Literally everyone finds this weird.
  • One-Man Army: Harry shows himself to be this multiple times over the story. One of the best examples is when he's portkeyed to the Department of Mysteries wandless. He ends up stealing a wand, killing 13 Death Eaters, escaping Bellatrix, and then forcing Voldemort to retreat.
  • Secret Legacy: Lily Potter was actually adopted by the Evans family. Her real parents are Gellert Grindelwald and Lycoris Black. This makes both Lily and her son, Harry Potter, purebloods.
  • Shapeshifting: Nymphadora Tonks, Edward (Teddy) Tonks, and Lycoris Black are metamorphmagi.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Colin Creevey, Cedric Diggory.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Voldemort and Harry Potter can speak parseltongue.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: The Dursleys start off as their cruel canon selves, but it turns out this is only due to the horcrux in Harry's scar. Once its removed they feel awful for how they treated him, and do whatever they can to make up for it.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: The Inquisitorial Squad working under Umbridge. At first they just seem like typical bullies, but then Cassius Warrington, Graham Montague, Francine Rowle, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, and the Carrow twins torture Dolores Umbridge (who they think is Harry Potter) to death, and promptly get sent to Azkaban. They later get released from Azkaban by Voldemort and sent to attack Hogwarts. All but Francine Rowle and the Carrow twins are killed whilst attacking the Gryffindor common room.
  • Villain Respect: Corban Yaxley respects Filius Flitwick's skill as a duellist. They face off in a fight to the death during the Battle of Hogwarts, and Yaxley chooses to patiently wait until Flitwick recovers his wand after getting knocked over by outside forces. Yaxley's last thought before he dies is happiness that he lost to someone he respects so greatly.
