Shackles of Guilt
is a complete reconstruction of Guilty Crown, done by the author, Vuken. It is an attempt to give more logic and coherence to the story and redeem the main protagonist, Shu Ouma, by making him epic while keeping the "Guilty Crown" theme.
Shackles of Guilt provide examples of:
- Forgotten First Meeting: Shu and Gai as childhood friends actually reunited and remember each other early on in Chapter 6.
- Naïve Newcomer: Shu when joining Funeral Parlor, to the point that the mercenaries call him 'rookie'.
- That Man Is Dead: Implied in a heroic sense in Chapter 7 (Interlude 6.5) when describing that 'Shu' and 'Triton' were 'dead', while 'Shu of Funeral Parlor' and 'Tsutsugami Gai' are born.
