SONIC HIGH SCHOOL

Go To

SONIC HIGH SCHOOL is a Sonic the Hedgehog High School AU fanfic created by fanfiction author DarkDoomFireMaster. The fanfic is known for its use of weird grammar, wording, and lack of logic.

The fanfic centers on the life of Sonic, a teenage hedgehog, as he goes through high school. For the year there, there is a lot of stuff going down, including scenarios such as Sonic getting diagnosed with a fatal disease, a classmate getting murdered, and a bomb accidentally going off in the auditorium.

The fanfic can be read here and here. Internet Historian also produced an animated adaptation of the first three chapters.

DarkDoomFireMaster also made two sequels to SONIC HIGH SCHOOL, a one-off sequel called SONIC THE HEDGEHOG: WORLD WAR 2 DRAGON: A SONIC HIGH SCHOOL STORY (which can be read here) and a seemingly abandoned threequel called SONIC THE HEDGEHOG: THE MOVIE: A SONIC HIGH SCHOOL STORY (which can be read here).

Tropes seen in Sonic High School include:

    open/close all folders
    A-G
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • Sonic in this fic is a self-centered, racist, homophobic asshole who is more interested in getting into Amy's pants than anything. Throughout the story, he assists in an attempted deceptive abortion, gropes his girlfriend, cheats on her, and kicks her as she starves in detention.
    • Tails, aside from his elitist attitude, implicitly threatens to rape his crush, then barely reacts when he flies in on Shadow just having raped an unconscious Cream.
    • Cream in canon is a strongly positive character, with her negative traits being associated with being a young child. In Sonic High School, Cream calls her boyfriend “a fag ass”, celebrates his death by skipping class so she can screw her new boyfriend of three days (if you’re being generous) or mere seconds (if not), and, when needing a lockpick, rather than buy one, she breaks into a schoolmate’s house and steals not just the lockpick but a gemstone too. She then cheats on her new boyfriend three days after with Shadow.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In contrast to the unrequited love Amy has for Sonic in canon, this story begins with them as boyfriend and girlfriend.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Vector commits kidnapping, cannibalism and murder merely to hold his position as football team captain, despite canonically having a strong moral code.
    • Following a Face–Heel Turn under the false belief of Amy's infidelity, Sonic becomes outright criminal, strong-arming a tattoo parlor into giving him a free tattoo, assaulting other students at school, and, after consuming "Marowana", breaking into Amy's house and punching all her teeth out.
  • Age Lift: A majority of underage characters that appear in this fanfic have been aged up to 18, particularly the characters that have sexual intercourse.
  • All Is Well That Ends Well: Implied for the surviving characters, despite the immense physical and psychological trauma one would expect most of them to have gone through.
  • Anatomically Impossible Sex: Turned up to eleven in all five sex scenes. Characters have penises the size of their entire upper body or bigger (Shadow's erect penis obscures his vision while driving, and Sonic's penis looks "like he ha[s] the World Trade Center sitting on his balls."). Vaginas are just empty holes that lead straight to the character's internal organs. There's even a scene where Sonic shoves his entire head into the Lunch Lady's vagina.
  • And That's Terrible: The narrator tells us this about:
    • Sitting in the middle of a bus seat that two people would normally sit in, which is against the rules of both man and God.
    • Rooms full of drugs and guns.
    • Jumping out a high window instead of using a door.
    • Tattoos with guns, “cigarets”, motorcycles, middle fingers, and curse words.
    • Leaving high school during school hours, but only the second time this is done. The first time, it’s treated as fine by everyone.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Downplayed with doorbells, which say “Ding dong” but otherwise appear to be just like their real world counterparts.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Amy notes it was awful that Shadow “came into my room in the evening and tied me up on this bed and messed up the things in my room.”
  • Artistic License – Biology:
    • Amy looks “starved like African kids” after less than a day of being tied up.
    • Rouge goes from showing no signs of pregnancy to being “really fat” in a day, and the baby’s born the next day.
    • “Rouge eats salads because she is 'thin',” the day after the narrator calls her “a really fat guy”.
    • Newborns can speak fluent English minutes after birth.
    • Knuckle’s mom has “solid boobs that she had developed for decades.”
    • The Body Donation. An invention of “Inestine”, it’s when someone’s love becomes so powerful that they can be (literally) reborn as a child of the person they love.
    • Women can have “a nerection” visible while clothed.
    • Being caring literally involves the use of the heart. Hence, caring people have the power to consciously increase their heart rate to spray blood from cuts.
    • Gourds have throats, which, if punched sufficiently hard, close up and leave them “unconscience”.
    • Amy and Rouge have no food or water for a day, and it makes their boobs look bigger. After another two without hydration, they are “looking still skinny” but otherwise seem fine once they have a bite to eat.
    • Testicles, being “the most powerful spot on a man”, are “like the information superhighway of your body”, so being kicked in them jolts one back to sobriety.
    • Amy’s mouth is a hole that goes “to her boobs and then vagina”.
    • The dead (not the undead or anything, just a regular dead corpse) can think.
  • Artistic License – Education: Many examples:
    • A teacher reads a student’s private journal aloud to the class.
    • A student giving birth lies down in the lunchroom, then has a curtain placed around her while the school nurse assists with the labor. No further help is given.
    • No attempt seems to be given to stop students fighting, but the punishment for using the wrong sex bathroom is over three straight days of detention, in which one is given neither food nor water. The detention room is locked and has a security "gourd".
    • Although we are told leaving the school “is really bad and will get you in big trouble”, Sonic does this twice without any apparent consequences.
    • The students attend high school for ten consecutive days (though this could be due to the fanfic's unusually odd time-framing timeline).
    • During Sonic's emo phase, he violently assaults his classmates and a hall monitor for trivial reasons, yet somehow never gets suspended.
    • The school principal comes out one day each year.
  • Artistic Licence – Engineering: One can glue two sets of baby teeth together to make a perfectly fitting set of teeth for an adult.
  • Artistic Licence – Law: One will not suffer any legal consequences so long as the person you kill is “a bad guy”.
  • Artistic License – Medicine:
    • Abortion pills work minutes before birth (though maybe the characters just think that), and are subtle enough to be eaten unknowingly after being placed in salad.
    • Babies are born anally and require third-party assistance in the process because they “are too weak to do this on their own”.
    • Doctors have data on the genital size of entire male high school student bodies, and are free to inform whoever is best endowed.
    • Sonic’s ball disease comes along once every million years, and though he has it for weeks without serious issue, someone else touching them leads to instant death.
    • Testicular disease analysis involves taking pieces of the balls in question and placing them in a test tube.
    • Infants can remove their baby teeth like dentures.
  • As You Know:
    • Sonic’s diary follows a mention of Amy with “(my girlfriend)”.
    • Rouge says to Amy, “thanks to Silver we have been escaped from detention”; “we” is Rouge and Amy.
  • Author Appeal:
    • There’s a lot of focus on the female characters' boobs.
    • There's also a noticeable amount of focus on fortunes. While they're mentioned much less than boobs, fortune cookies often contains strangely-worded messages that are relevant to the plot (see Fortune Cookie Gag for examples), and Knuckles' horoscope plays a small, but important role in explaining his "volcano rage" at Rouge for conceiving a baby, who turned out to be a prophet.
  • Back from the Dead: Sonic is resurrected thanks to the Chaos Emeralds.
  • Badass Bystander: As it turns out, the lunch lady is very strong from carrying trees in her home village in Mongolia (or maybe in Bangladesh?). When the theater is set on fire, she carries several people to safety.
  • Big Applesauce: Downplayed. Even with the presence of Al-Qaeda-built robots and wish-granting emeralds in what’s implied to be New York, the objectively most significant event of the story is Shadow’s murder of three gang members.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Tails shows up last minute to help Amy and Rouge from Charmy Bee (who is a robot), then later for Sonic during his fight with Vector.
  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: Implied in most of the story’s sex scenes, particularly Sonic’s climatic consummation with Amy.
  • Big "NO!": Vector yells this upon being smacked in the face by Sonic’s balls.
  • Blame the Paramour: Knuckles is outraged that Espio had a tryst with his girlfriend, Rouge, despite their relationship being a secret. No one points out the flaw in his logic.
  • Bland-Name Product:
    • The internet chat feature used is called “Sonic Messager”.
    • Cream’s room features a mountain of these, all of which contain the word “Sonic” for no apparent reason.
  • Blatant Lies: The log line says “this story contains no graphic descriptions”.
  • Bloody Murder: A rare positive example; Amy's "special attack" is to spray blood hot enough to burn from a cut.
  • Bound and Gagged: Eggman ties Amy’s feet and hands together, with a third rope around her head and a lock in her mouth. Later Shadow performs a similar act, though the text gives a less detailed description of the act and no justifications are given.
  • Brainless Beauty: Sonic considers Amy this, though in reality she's not any dumber than most of the other characters in the fanfic.
  • Brainy Baby: Slightly downplayed with Knuckles Jr. and fully downplayed with Knuckles. Though they can speak fluent English, neither are geniuses, and Knuckles doesn’t show any particular insight beyond the average child.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Told that he should stop going on adventures because high school is more important, Sonic thinks “he was right because its called Sonic high school and it should be more about the high school part”
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Amy is bound and gagged twice by two different characters, spends days in detention with nothing to eat or drink, and has all her teeth punched out by Sonic. His suicide also leaves her miserable.
    • Charmy Bee, who is “used to being hectored”, is kidnapped and held hostage by Knuckles. He’s taken from the cage Knuckles imprisons him in by Vector who kills and partially eats him. After being found by Sonic, he has his face turned into a mask and his body thrown in the school trash.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Though the narrator clearly thinks this, it’s confirmed just once in universe:
None of them could not say that Rouge was not attractive because she had the absolute biggest boobs in the tri-state area.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Both Amy and Rouge do this in their fight with Charmy Bee’s robot lookalike in the men’s bathroom, in the form of a two-word noun phrase: “Girl Blood!” for the former and “Romance Bite!” for the latter.
  • Camp Gay: Charmy Bee looks and sounds like a girl, uses the whole rainbow in every picture in art class, is the best at dancing and singing, is bad at fixing cars and the worst at sports. It doesn’t stop him having a girlfriend, though she calls him “a total gay” and “a fag ass”.
  • Captain Obvious: Many examples, such as, “he was crying, which was out of his eyes”.
  • Chocolate Baby: Rouge's baby is red with long hair and big white fists, making it clear that the father was Knuckles instead of Espio.
  • Coitus Ensues:
    • Sonic “sex thanking” the lunch lady in return for her opening a window to Vector's house.
    • Shadow’s instant seduction of Cream.
  • Comically Missing the Point: After Amy fails to appear at lunch, Sonic heads into her bedroom to find his girlfriend tied to her bed and gagged:
"It was awful!" said Amy. "He came into my room in the evening and tied me up on this bed and messed up the things in my room!" Amy was right, her room looked messy.
"So get a maid," said Sonic, always thinking about a solution to problems.
  • Complexity Addiction: Vector’s plan is very elaborate, involving switching a robot double for the victim of someone else’s kidnapping.
  • Conflict Ball: Tails becomes absolutely furious at Sonic for missing his science fair presentation... despite missing it himself to go retrieve Sonic's diary. They remain angry at each other for half the story.
  • Damsel in Distress: Amy is kidnapped first by Eggman, then by Shadow.
  • Dark Is Evil:
    • The aptly named Shadow is Sonic’s token evil teammate.
    • Sonic dyes his fur black upon entering an angry, depressed phase.
  • Darker and Edgier: As well as kidnappings which also occur in canon, characters, including canonically neutral or good ones, commit rape and murder.
  • Defiled Forever: Eggman tries but fails to invoke this, saying, “I kissed Amy and now you can never date her again because I am going to do sex to her tonight.” Oddly, the trope is completely averted for the rest of the story.
  • Demoted to Extra: Eggman is mentioned 27 times, 22 of them in chapters 2 and 3, where he makes his only appearance. Instead, Vector is the most significant villain.
  • Denser and Wackier: Quite the shift despite the source material’s already substantial wackiness. Anally delivered infants speaking fluent English minutes after birth, murder victims being honored, unbeknownst to them, by their faces turned into play props, school detention in which one is brought to the cusp of death by starvation, and penises so enormous that they require people to duck or jump over them are just a few of the insane things that occur in Sonic High School.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: One great example is on terminating a pregnancy: "Rouge's baby would not survive it. In fact, Rouge's baby would die".
  • Digging to China: Discussed by the narrator, who compares Amy’s toothless maw to a hole to China.
  • Disappeared Dad: Unlike Sonic’s mom, who’s a significant minor character, Sonic’s dad is never mentioned.
  • Dishonored Dead: Sonic gives Charmy Bee's severed head to the theatre class to use as a mask. The rest of his limbs get thrown in a dumpster.
  • The Ditz: Sonic’s Mom seems like this, though it’s not clear the author intended it that way. She leers at her son for skipping breakfast when he only makes it to the school bus seconds later, fails to realize (or just doesn’t care) that he’s lying about nothing being wrong after she hears him scream from his room, seems almost non-existent when Sonic suffers from severe psychological problems (even by the story’s standards) and claims “Being a teen is the hardest thing in the world. It is harder than being in a war or in jail.” Sonic saying “Sonic's Mom is the best at cooking and cleaning” just comes off as damning with faint praise.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Sonic’s consistently in a foul mood after he turns emo due to thinking Amy cheated on him. Realizing he’s punched all her teeth out is the final straw.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • As punishment for entering the boy's bathroom, Amy and Rouge are locked in detention for days without food and water.
    • After believing Amy cheated on him with Cream, Sonic punches out all her teeth.
    • Tails punches Shadow in the balls because he was late to Sonic's funeral.
  • Driven to Suicide: Sonic, seemingly from guilt at having punched all Amy’s teeth out.
  • Drugs Are Bad: High on “Marowana”, Sonic breaks into Amy’s house and punches her in the face until all her teeth fall out. He soon regrets it.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Charmy Bee in drag as Mary, mother of Jesus, has the whole play audience believing him to be a girl.
  • Easily Forgiven: Sonic upon dying, and nothing changes when he comes back to life.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Sonic’s mom is called “mom” by Sonic and “Sonic’s Mom” by everyone else; this includes moments when they are speaking to Sonic.
  • Express Delivery: Rouge’s pregnancy is a severe case of this, as her baby bump goes from unnoticeable to large in a single day, and the baby’s born the next. Even the smallest bats’ gestation lasts weeks.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Following his discovery of his girlfriend’s apparent infidelity, the narrator tells us “Sonic had really changed now from being the one with the best morals to the ones with the worst”.
  • Forced Miscarriage: The day after learning of his girlfriend's pregnancy, Espio places a "bortion pill" in Rouge's salad while Sonic is distracting her. Ultimately averted because Rouge has an Express Delivery before she can even finish the salad.
  • Fortune Cookie Gag: Sonic opens a few of them throughout the story. They have some... oddly-worded messages they are sort of relevant to the plot.
The path to glory begins at the base of your friend's penis.
One man's pubic illness will cause the death of millions.
You will not have any friends if you are black.
  • Fortune Teller: Knuckles Jr. is able to foresee a bomb going off at the school play but apparently not Sonic's death.
  • Gag Penis: Shadow’s becomes so large it becomes hard for him to see while driving. Tails has his compared to “an upside down couch sofa”. Sonic’s “was so big and long and wide that you could fit families inside”.
  • Gasshole: Sonic is known for having really bad poop stink. One particular "angry poop" was so bad it stunk up the whole street and resulted in a neighborhood meeting.
  • Gay Guy Dies First: Charmy Bee is the the first character to die, and the only gay one explicitly confirmed by the narrator.
  • Going Commando: After forcing open a window for Sonic, the lunch lady asks to be thanked by Sonic in the form of oral sex. The only undressing this requires is pulling down her dress.
  • Gratuitous Rape: Shadow’s decision to seduce then knock out Cream has a purpose, but unless society has zero problem with unprovoked assaults or rape, it’s a strategy with far more downside than telling the truth or trying to dupe her into leaving her room.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Knuckles is so outraged that Espio had sex with his girlfriend (despite their relationship being secret) he takes a hostage to coerce Espio into fighting him.
  • Groin Attack:
    • Amy’s response to a stoned Sonic punching her teeth out.
    • Tails to Shadow for arriving late to Sonic’s funeral.
    H-M
  • Hanging Judge: Implied in that someone must have decided to give Amy and Rouge over three days of detention without food or water as punishment for using the wrong bathroom.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: A literal example, as because Amy is “so good at being nice and caring, which is using your heart” she also has the ability to spray blood out of a leg wound “like a Super Soaker filled up by vampire”. Downplayed because it turns out she was fighting a robot, making it ineffectual in this instance.
  • Hermaphrodite: Rouge and Cream are explicitly female. The former has balls and the latter gets "a nerection."
  • The Hero Dies: Sonic commits suicide upon realizing that he punched all Amy's teeth out while intoxicated. He doesn’t stay dead though, thanks to the magic of the Ultra Chaos Emeralds.
  • High School AU: A High School AU of Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • Their Name Really Is "Barkeep": Downplayed. Mrs (or Ms) Lesson is Sonic’s English teacher.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: Most of the main characters, as many of them are obsessed with sexual activity.
  • Hotter and Sexier: With characters that are canonically children made post-pubescent, quests for sex making up most of the plot, and five sex scenes plus two borderline cases described explicitly, this definitely qualifies.
  • Human Resources: Following his death, Sonic turns Charmy’s head into a mask because he “thought Charmy would like it”.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Tails is this to Sonic.
  • Hypocrite: Sonic performs oral sex on the Lunch Lady one night, and the next day learns something that makes him conclude his girlfriend had “hand sex” with some else. He then calls Amy a “loose woman” and “a concubine and a bitch” before running around for hours, crying and screaming.
  • Hypocritical Humor: A meta example as an author’s note includes “Just because you do not get or understand adult material does not mean you should pass judgement on it”.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: Eggman says of his prisoner: "I kissed Amy and now you can never date her again because I am going to do sex to her tonight".
  • Impossibly Low Neckline: Rouge wears a “tiny baby dress” that leaves her “unlimited boobs nearly jumping out of her clothing”.
  • Impressive Pyrotechnics: A bomb used as a stage prop makes a huge explosion “like a bunch of horses made of fire running through the place”.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Sonic, Shadow, and (to a lesser extent) Vector weaponize their penises.
  • Incest Subtext: His boast “I am gonna kiss and sex [Rouge] tonight!" is immediately followed by “Espio was like a little boy looking at his mom's boob for the first time.”
  • Informed Attribute:
    • The story repeatedly tells us that Sonic has the best morals. This is despite him assisting in an attempted deceptive abortion, groping his girlfriend, cheating on her, and kicking her as she starves in detention, and all that’s before he turns evil with its only apparent cause being the weak evidence for his girlfriend being unfaithful. Sonic’s only notable good deed is caring (poorly) for two infants for under a day.
    • Both Cream and Sonic are described as “pretty smart”. Besides taking a hard science class for which no further description is given, Cream’s only indication of intelligence is using her position as hall monitor to smuggle a lockpick into detention. This fails because her vagina is too tight for Amy to extract it. Sonic’s only such moment has him deduce what password Eggman would use but describe it incorrectly.
  • Informed Flaw: The lunch lady’s deafness, though it has given her a speech impediment, doesn’t stop her understanding anything that’s said after her first mention.
  • Instant Birth: Just Add Labor!: The completion of Rouge's baby's birth occurs mere paragraphs after she begins "suddenly looking like a shocked woman" due to awareness of its arrival. With the greatest sense of time passing being in the passage "Rouge lied down on the ground and they put a curtain around her", the process feels like it lasts a minute or two at most.
  • Interchangeable Asian Cultures: In one chapter, the lunch lady is stated to be from Mongolia, but in another, she’s supposed to be from Bangladesh.
  • Karma Houdini:
    • Eggman never suffers any comeuppance for his kidnapping and planned rape of Amy.
    • Shadow’s kidnapping, murder spree and rape have no consequences, though he is hit in the groin for arriving late to Sonic’s funeral.
    • Sonic’s repeated efforts to bed his girlfriend come to fruition following his resurrection just two days after he brutally assaulted her.
  • Killer Robot: An evil robotic Charmy Bee goes on a rampage during the school play and attempts to kill Knuckles Jr, Amy, and Rouge.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After knocking Amy’s teeth out, she kicks Sonic in the balls. This is so painful “all of the drugs fell off his brain” and Sonic is so horrified at what he’s done, he kills himself.
  • Last Disrespects: At his funeral, Sonic's doctor notes it might not be so bad that Sonic died because it also killed off a contagious disease.
  • Lemony Narrator: This trope kicks in every now and then, with the most blatant example being:
her voice was breaking like a talking toy that had one of its batteries half way out and my brother spilled juice on it so it didn't work right anymore.
  • Literal Metaphor: By the narration, which describes Shadow as having “redecorated the inside of Omega with white curtains.” A few paragraphs later, Shadow is told by Silver, “Cool curtains you put up.”
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: A school closet, the school garden, and a front lawn (though in that case the participants were invisible) are utilized as locations for the characters to have sex at.
  • Meaningful Name: The one named teacher is Ms. Lesson.
  • Men Act, Women Are: The most plot impacting choice of any female character is Cream’s seduction of Tails. Aside from that, Rouge’s trysts (sensing a trend here?), and Amy and Rouge using the boy’s bathroom, all other plot advancing decisions and actions are done by male characters. Also noteworthy is that there are three kidnappings, all done by males, two to Amy and one to camp gay dude-looks-like-a-lady Charmy Bee.
  • Men Don't Cry: Sonic doesn’t cry about Tails' hatred of him because “he was too big and a man for that”.
  • Middle Eastern Terrorists: Vector uses Al-Qaida's assistance to replace Charmy Bee with a robot double.
  • Mills and Boon Prose: Zig-zagged, as the sex scenes contain plenty of both this and very upfront descriptions.
  • Mood Whiplash:
Sonic's Mom made Chinese Food and Sonic ate it and at the end there was a Fortune Cookie and Sonic broke it open and ate the cookie part and kept the paper that was inside that held a magical fortune on it. Sonic looked at the fortune and read it to himself inside of his head.
“The path to glory begins at the base of your friend's penis.”
  • Mrs. Robinson: The lunch lady opens a window for Sonic, and in return he performs oral sex on her.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Despite being immensely buxom, Rouge repeatedly wears tiny bras.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: At Sonic’s funeral, almost every surviving character is given a brief description of what they’re doing there. It ends with “Blaze the Cat was not there because no one liked her and no one invited her.”
  • My Girl Is Not a Slut: The lunch lady assures Sonic that the Bangladeshi tradition of sex thanking “is not slutty”.
  • My God, What Have I Done??: Due to being kicked in the balls Sonic has “all the drugs fall off his brain”, making him realize he’s punched all of Amy’s teeth out.
    N-T
  • No OSHA Compliance: A live bomb planned for use as a play prop is stored backstage at high school.
  • No One Could Survive That!: Subverted. The “funeral man” (properly known as a eulogist) says “The other day a security camera in the woods saw Sonic run off a cliff and he fell all the way down and hit the ground at the bottom next to the river. His body got so messed up, he is dead for sure." The funeral man’s right. It’s then doubly subverted when Sonic is resurrected.
  • Nobody Poops: Averted, as Sonic does so twice. Though the first time it doesn’t really impact anything, the second it proves critical to defeating Charmy Bee’s robot double.
  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: Shadow claims that, despite being dark, committing crimes in the city, tying Amy to her bed and trashing her room, killing three people while searching for the last Ultra Chaos Emerald, and raping Cream the Rabbit while she's unconscious, he is not attempting to be evil, before going on to say that everyone makes bad decisions, but can still be good people, with the exception of truly evil people, with Eggman cited as an example.
  • Not Himself: Charmy Bee in the run up to the school play, as it turns out he’s been replaced by a robot.
  • Obligatory Swearing: There are a lot of hilariously weird, excessively profane insults in this fanfic. Some choice picks would be "nerd ass", "fuck" (used as a noun to describe Knuckles), "shit dick", "fag ass", and "fag nips."
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Silver rescuing Amy and Rouge from gulag-esque detention.
  • Omnidisciplinary Scientist: Tails is capable of inventing a hat that makes the wearer invisible, can glue sets of baby teeth together to construct a set of teeth that perfectly fit an adult, and has access to robot killing electronics and killer robots that he presumably built himself, all while still in high school.
  • Only Sane Man: Despite the narrator’s negative opinion of him, Charmy Bee is by far the most significant character who doesn’t commit or condone horrific violence and/or undertake any sexual misconduct.
  • ""Open!" Says Me:
    • Vector to a barricaded door in his house
    • Tails to Sonic’s locked garage door
  • Overly Narrow Superlative: “Espio thought she looked like the hottest woman in the world that he could see from here.” There’s no mention of any other women in Espio’s line of sight.
  • Perfectly Cromulent Word: Words created for the story include “breathwash”, “bumpful”, “disappointy”, “disrespection”, “gunproof”, “idiotly”, “nightmaring”, “respondingly”, “semensphere”, “shoutingly”, “tightfully”, and “togetherly”.
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A minor example in that the “gang men” whom Shadow murders to steal the Ultra Chaos Emerald only appear in two paragraphs. Though “they looked dangerous” for all the reader knows they are just presumed to be gangsters because they’re black and loiter on a dark city street.
  • The Plague: Sonic’s ball disease. Subverted as despite the Fortune Cookie Gag, it only affects one other person before his death, though Sonic does think to weaponized it against Amy in detention before ultimately reneging on it.
  • Police Are Useless: Despite four kidnappings, no one ever contacts them. Their only appearance has them stop Shadow when he speeds and drives erratically, then fail to pursue when he speeds off. This is despite him committing a triple homicide minutes earlier.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: Sonic and even Tails use the word "fag" and variations thereof quite liberally, and the heroes in general treat Charmy Bee terribly because he's gay.
  • Poor Communication Kills:
    • Knuckles Jr. foresees an attack on the theater, so Rouge takes him to stand by the exit. Neither of them attempt to communicate this to anyone else there.
    • Sonic doesn't give Amy a proper chance to explain why her bracelet was in Cream's vagina. He flies into a depressive emo state and assaults her for it when the reality was it ended up there when she was trying to retrieve the lockpick Cream smuggled to try breaking her out of detention, not because she was cheating with her.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Using an invisibility hat to have discrete sex on a front lawn.
  • Precision F-Strike: The only spoken F-bomb not from Sonic is by a day-old Knuckles Jr, directed at the world due to a single instance of violence.
  • Protagonist-Centred Morality: People are very upset when Sonic dies, but don’t seem to care at all when other characters do. His cheating with the lunch lady is never remarked on later, much less negatively, while Sonic is portrayed as justified in his outrage when he thinks Amy cheated on him.
  • Psycho Serum: Sonic becomes mad enough to viciously beat Amy... from eating Marowana.
  • Quest for Sex: While not the sole driver of the story ark, Sonic’s quest drives an awful lot of it, and combined with Espio’s and Tails’ make it what most of the story is about.
  • Questionable Consent: Shadow, after properly seducing Cream, gets her to give him oral sex, before knocking her unconscious and raping her vaginally.
  • Rape as Drama: Averted, as Sonic manages to scare Eggman off before he can “do sex to” Amy. The story’s subsequent explicit rape is treated as totally insignificant.
  • Reduced to Dust: This is Vector's fate when he comes into contact with Sonic's diseased balls.
  • Right Through His Pants: A rare female example, as Amy wearing “a panty” doesn’t stop her coitus with Sonic.
  • Robotic Reveal: Charmy Bee. In this case the switch happened during the course of the story.
  • Rouge Angles of Satin: Occurs frequently. Some of the highlights include:
    • “Erection” is spelt consistently as “nerection”.
    • “Abortion” is always spelt “bortion”.
    • Thinking about Amy’s body sets Sonic’s mind at “E’s”.
    • "Einstein's" misspelling, "Inestine," is unrecognizable enough to throw off many readers.
    • “doctor zepointmint”.
    • “rockened roll”.
    • “Windowsel”.
  • Sadly Mythtaken: In-Universe, the Nativity Story school play. In this version, Jesus’s father is Joseph, Mary receives a letter from an angel, she and Joseph leave London for Jerusalem on bikes because the King won’t let babies vote, and Jesus is born in a barn because the hospital is full.
  • Said Bookism: Common throughout, but taken to an extreme with two mentions of things said “in an explaining way”.
  • Sapient Eat Sapient: Vector kidnaps the already kidnapped and imprisoned Charmy from Knuckles' house, murders him, cuts up his body and, it's implied, puts pieces of it in in his sandwich he eats at school.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Espio’s and the lunch lady’s doorbells say “Ding dong” and Omega the car says “"Brrrrrrrrrrvvvvvvvv," as it drives and “Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeek," as it turns.
  • Seers: Knuckles Jr foresees events such as Knuckles undergoing Body Donation and Charmy Bee attacking people in the theater.
  • Secret Diary: It's not exactly secret when it's an English class assignment, but that doesn't stop Sonic from treating it as such by writing about his ball problems. Naturally, Mrs. Lesson reads that passage in front of the class.
  • Self-Harm: In his emo phase, Sonic cuts his wrists "a little but did not do it too much because it was dangerous, like they said at the presentation at school."
  • Shaped Like Itself: Ultra Chaos Emeralds were “a secret until they were found out.”
  • Skewed Priorities: Sonic, Amy, and Rouge all decide it's a good time to go to the bathroom while there is a killer robot Charmy Bee at large in the school. This also applies to the people waiting in the line for the girl's bathroom.
  • Sophisticated as Hell:
    • Sonic writes in his journal “A sickness still ravages my balls.”
    • Tails confesses to Cream that he's "lusted after her rabbit genitals since day one."
    • Believing his girlfriend cheated on him, Sonic calls Amy “a concubine and a bitch.”
  • Speech Impediment: The text notes the lunch lady sounds retarded due to her deafness. Specifically, instead of "What is it, children?" she sounds like "Wad id id, chodran?"
  • Spikes of Villainy: Emo Sonic’s school outfit sometimes includes “spiky collars that made him look bad”.
  • Spotting the Thread: Tails figured out that Charmy Bee was actually a killer robot because he didn't react to Sonic's poop stink.
  • Stacy's Mom:
Sonic also noticed that Knuckles's Mom was kind of hot, with solid boobs that she had developed for decades.
  • Taken for Granite: After being hit in the face by Sonic’s diseased balls, Vector turns to first stone, then dust.
  • Teen Pregnancy: Rouge has one.
  • Talking Is a Free Action: Despite the story anviliciously reminding the reader how fast Sonic is, he doesn’t react to his teacher reading an embarrassing part of his diary to the whole class until she’s finished an 84-word paragraph.
  • Talks Like a Simile: The narration is loaded with bizarre, often very elaborate similes. A fairly typical example goes:
he felt a sudden rage build up inside him like the foam from cream soda going over the top of the glass when someone pours it like an idiot ass.
  • Tampering with Food and Drink: To give his girlfriend an abortion, Espio places a pill in Rouge's salad while Sonic distracts her by asking casual questions.
  • That Makes Me Feel Angry: One scene alone features:
    • “"I am so sad!" said Amy in a crying way”
    • Sonic’s mum says "so am I. "
    • “"Yes, I am sad," said Tails,”
    • “I am so sad”, this time said by Knuckles Jr.
    • “"this is the saddest," said Knuckles”
  • Their First Time: Sonic's primary goal is to get with Amy for the first time. He succeeds at the end of the story.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Despite murdering unnamed minor characters, threatening to kill his own parents, kidnapping Amy, and raping Cream, Shadow is ultimately on the side of Sonic.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: At one point, Knuckles Jr. practices making out with his de-aged father. He also says the F-word.
  • Two-Teacher School: Though much of the story takes place at high school, only Mrs/Ms Lesson is named, and only two other staff are described, though the history teacher and the Principal also make cameos.
    U-Z
  • Understatement: The narration notes that caring for a baby “is harder than having a dog.”
  • The Unpronounceable: Eggman hides the key to a cage in which he traps Tails in a safe with the password "SAOHC SDLAREME". Sonic has no trouble suggesting the possibility verbally.
  • Unusual Euphemism: The narration is loaded with these. The three that really stand out are “creamy Italian salad dressing”, “New England Clam Chowder” and “fresh and creamy smores” for “semen”.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: Cream smuggles a lock pick by hiding it in her vagina. She later had Amy's bracelet there for an extended period of time.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Dr. Eggman plays a large antagonistic role in Chapters 2 and 3, only to never appear later, though if Shadow is to be believed he has impact from offscreen.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Knuckles Jr. repeatedly offers sage-like advice, at least some derived from psychic visions, mere days after his birth.
