Fanfic / Remnant and Runeterra: A Tale of Two Worlds

Go To

"Aurelion Sol looked at Zoe's creation. Maybe it should have a new name. A portmanteau of the two planets' names. "Runenant" "Remterra". They sounded silly in his head. With nothing left to do but just watch, he moved in slightly closer so he could have a better view of the planet. Maybe he would shrink himself slightly so that he could fly across its skies, but for now he would remain above its stratosphere. He chuckled to himself. 'Well… this should be… interesting.'"

Zoe, the Aspect of Twilight, loves to experiment with the fabric of reality. As such, she ventured into the other galaxies and came across Remnant, the world of RWBY. Seeing how cool the hunters are during the Vytal Festival, she decided to merge the world of Remnant with the world of Runeterra. This resulted in the planet doubling in size, adding 5 more hours to the 24-hour clock cycle, with Zoe somehow kept the tides relatively the same now that the merged planet has two moons.

Remnant and Runeterra: A Tale of Two Worlds by Eccentric-Okami-Rose is a crossover fic between RWBY and League of Legends.

Tropes present in Remnant and Runeterra: A Tale of Two Worlds:

  • A God Am I: Salem sees herself as such. Even her group believes so.
Zoe: "They treated her like she was some revered goddess and she behaved like she was the most powerful thing in existence."
Aurelion Sol: laughs hysterically "REALLY! That is adorably amusing! Her standards must be exceptionally low if she thinks she knows what true power is!"
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Corki pleaded to Raven to let him go only to fall on deaf ears.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Aatrox to the Grimm Dragon.
  • Anyone Can Die: Zig-zagged in Chapter 23 as Nora isn't actually dead, but her soul is trapped in Thresh's lantern, suffering in agony along with the other thousands of souls.
    • Neptune died when Pyke dragged him to the bottom of the ocean.
  • Back Story: In Chapter 18, Pantheon, Ryze, and Shen share their backstories to hunters and huntresses.
  • Badass Boast:
Aurelion Sol: "They call me a comet. They call me a dragon. They have no words for my true form. Describe me in any way you like, and you will never adequately capture my essence. But… if you had to give me a name, I have grown fondly of the name 'Aurelion Sol'. If you wanted to show reverence though, I am 'The Star Forger'."
  • Advertisement:
  • Bigger Bad: Zoe beat Salem out of the spot.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Ryze saved Blake and Weiss from the hijacked Atlesian Knights.
    • Pantheon saved Blake and Yang from Adam.
    • Shen saved Pyrrha from being executed by Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury.
    • Bard saved Ozpin, General Ironwood, Qrow, Professor Goodwitch, Professor Port, and Dr. Oobleck from Aatrox.
    • Lucian saved Ren from Thresh.
    • Kai'Sa saved Yang from Kha'Zix.
  • Big "NO!":
    • Emerald after witnessing Aatrox slain the Grimm Dragon.
    • Sienna when Aurelion Sol declares that he was going to throw a star at her and White Fang. Of course, he was kidding.
  • Berserk Button: Yang erupts into a fury when Kha'Zix cuts off most of her hair.
    • Double Subversion with Ren as he weeps over Nora's fate, which is followed up by this quote:
  • Captive Push: The bandits pick Corki up like a toddler after capturing him.
  • Cult: White Fang become worshippers of Aurelion Sol, dubbing themselves as "The Order of the Star-Forger".
  • Chase Scene:
    • Warwick chased Tyrian after the former smelt blood on the Faunus.
    • Raven chased Corki through the portal and into Bandle City after he escaped her during the confusion. She later chased Lulu after the latter turned her into a large cat.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Aatrox defeats the Grimm Dragon with relative ease.
    • Shen effortlessly takes down Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury.
    • Not really a battle but, Zoe utterly humiliates Salem, Hazel, and Tyrian.
    • Tyrian beats up and humiliates the Zaun merchants after criticizing their rotten products.
    • Neptune and Scarlet beat up a bunch of angry bar patrons.
    • Vel'Koz dispatches a bunch of Grimm, one of which was a Nuckelavee with little effort.
  • Deal with the Devil: Tahm Ketch invoking this trope to Roman Torchwick.
  • Disney Villain Death: Subverted with Warwick as Tyrian could hear his howls in the pit.
  • Escalating Brawl: Doubles as a Bar Brawl when a pissed off husband sees his wife flirting with Neptune.
  • Evil vs. Evil:
    • Aatrox vs. Grimm and Grimm Dragon at Beacon Academy.
    • Vel'Koz vs. Grimm at Kuroyuri.
  • Foil:
    • Xayah and Blake Belladonna. Both share animal and human characteristics and are usually faced with prejudice by most of humanity, yet met some humans who are not all evil. Xayah is a Lhotlan (bird-like) Vastaya who fights humans to free her tribe and people from Ionia while Blake is a cat-like Faunus who was once apart of White Fang (a peaceful Faunus rights organization) and left after the organization started becoming more violent. Xayah has bonded with her lover, Rakan, while Blake has some bond between her and Sun.
      • This also applies to their partners, Rakan and Sun Wukong. Both share animal and human traits and are quite the charmer. Rakan is the same species of Vastaya as Xayah while Sun is a monkey-like Faunus appose to Blake's cat-like Faunus.
  • For Want of a Nail: Zoe merging the two worlds altered important key events.
    • The giant Nevermores attack the stadium much earlier due to Ryze, who was filled with negative emotion, arriving in Mount Glenn. This resulted in Pyrrha not killing Penny as the match was interrupted by said Grimm.
    • Pantheon interrupted the fight between Adam and Blake. As a result, Blake never got stabbed and Yang didn't lose her arm.
      • Because the fight between Adam and Yang never happened, Blake didn't run away from her friends like in canon, thus she never had the talk with her parents or Sun.
      • Since Yang never lost her arm, she didn't have to deal with the PTSD, having nightmares about Adam, or getting training from her dad.
      • Since Yang never got any training from her dad to fix her Blinded by Rage mindset, she lost against Kha'Zix after the later cut her hair and would have lost her life if Kai'Sa never showed up.
    • Pyrrha was not executed by Cinder due to Shen intervene.
      • In addition to both Penny and Pyrrha surviving, Ruby never unlocked her Silver Eye Power.
    • Roman Torchwick end up surviving the fall of Beacon since he didn't get eaten by a Griffon.
    • Cinder never got the full power of the Fall Maiden since her plan was ruined by Aatrox's arrival.
      • Even if Aatrox never showed up, she still wouldn't get the powers due to Bard taking Amber far away from Beacon Academy.
    • Ozpin also survived since he didn't fight Cinder.
      • Due to Ozpin's survival, Oscar never became his next host.
    • Weiss never returned back home due to the events that had happened, thus Jacques Schnee never removed the title as 'heiress' from her and Whitley Schnee didn't become the next heir to the Schnee Dust Company.
    • Adam never killed Sienna due to the strange events that occurred during the Fall of Beacon.
  • Have We Met?: Neptune says this line when he and Scarlet encounter Pyke.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight:
    • Team RWBY, Team JNPR, Team SSSN, Team CVFY, Team FNKI, Ryze, and Pantheon did little to nothing against Aatrox.
      • Even Ozpin and his group could do nothing against the Darkin.
  • Info Dump: Zoe drops one on Salem's group about the merging of the two planets.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Some events still happened like in Canon.
    • The Fall of Beacon still occurred.
    • The Atlesian Knights and ships was still hijacked.
    • Beacon Academy was destroyed though not by the Grimm Dragon but Aatrox.
    • Jaune and Pyrrha had their kiss, though not quite the same as in canon.
    • Adam was still reprimanded by Sienna over White Fang involvement with the Fall of Beacon.
    • Atlas still placed an embargo on Schnee Dust Company.
  • Lonely Funeral: Yorick was the only one who dug a grave for Nora.
  • Most Common Card Game: Roman, Twisted Fate, and Graves play a game of Go-Fish.
  • Motivated by Fear: One of the driving points why White Fang decided to worship Aurelion Sol.
  • Nightmare Sequence: Aurelion Sol had a nightmare about the Dark Star.
    • Doubles as a Flashback Nightmare for Amber as she dreamt about the incident with Cinder and her goons.
  • No Range Like Point-Blank Range: Graves shoved his gun right at Roman's face when the latter accused the former and his partner of cheating.
  • Oh, Crap!: Ozpin and his group realized that Amber has disappeared from the pod.
    • Emerald and Mercury when they saw Aatrox slain the Grimm Dragon.
  • One-Track-Minded Hunger: Only a few hours on the Shadow Isles and Nora have succumbed to hunger. The Mist takes advantage of that which leads her to Thresh.
  • Party Scattering: Ao Shin destroys the Atlesian airship traveling to Ionia and sends General Ironwood, Qrow, Team RWBY, Team JNPR, Team SSSN, Roman Torchwick, Emerald, Mercury, Ryze, and Shen to different locations across Runeterra.
    • Ren and Nora end up in the Shadow Isles.
    • Scarlet, Neptune, and Roman end up in Bilgewater.
    • Yang end up in Icathia.
    • Ruby and Ryze end up in Shurima.
    • Blake and Sun end up in Ionia.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Salem really does not like Zoe.
  • Recap Episode: In Chapter 33, Ozpin sent letters to the parents of Team RWBY about what has happened to their children and the events that occurred in the Fall of Beacon.
  • Spell My Name with an "S": Both Emerald and Mercury spelled Aatrox's name as Aytrox.
  • Taken for Granite: A golden variation of this trope, it's how Bard stops Aatrox, temporary.
  • The Caretaker: Soraka serves as the Caretaker to Amber.
  • The Dreaded:
    • The Dark Star to Aurelion Sol.
    • Aatrox to most of Beacon Academy.
    • Zoe to Salem. And they both know it.
    • Two bar patrons mentioned the return of Gangplank.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: After receiving some magic from Raven, Corki opens a portal to Bandle City and runs like hell through said portal.
  • Talking the Monster to Death: Subverted when Ruby tried to give a speech to Aatrox of all people. It totally worked.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
Pantheon: "Speak again with your forked tongue and my spear shall find its way through your other leg. What has this young lady done to provoke you?"
Adam: "She betrayed me! I am bringing justice upon her and mankind! Who are you and who do you think you are, barging into our business?!"
Pantheon: "I am merely a man, but you, you are not a man, only a coward. I only see you attacking a person who does not deserve your corrupted attitude and your blade that is stained with evil. Leave this place now and recognize the error of your ways, or I shall stab you again and again, and teach you that lesson myself."
  • Thinking Up Portals: One of Zoe's abilities.
    • Opened one to move Remnant near Runeterra.
    • Accidentally sent Tyrian to Zaun after he jumped in said portal.
  • Why Won't You Die?: Tyrian says this line to Warwick.
  • You Wake Up in a Room: At the end of Chapter 20, Amber finds herself and Soraka chained up in a room after being ambushed by Jhin.

How well does it match the trope?
