Let Me Hear is a vampire-themed RWBY fanfic by Miss Kansas.

Weiss Schnee is a pureblood vampire, which means that she has no human blood in her family. Weiss and her adopted sister Blake enroll in Beacon Academy, a school for grimm hunters. While at Beacon they're put on the team with two sisters, Ruby and Yang, they had a previous unpleasant meeting with. Unfortunately, Yang and Weiss don't get along well.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Adaptation Name Change: Blake was born "Blake Belladonna" but she changed her name to "Blake Schnee" upon being adopted.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: It still involves RWBY meeting up at Beacon, but there are large changes. Namely that vampires exist and that Blake was raised as Weiss' sister.
  • Double In-Law Marriage: The story ships Blake/Ruby and Weiss/Yang, with Ruby and Yang being biological sisters while Blake and Weiss are adopted sisters.
  • Happily Adopted: Blake's parents were murdered when she was a young child. Weiss' father adopted her and raised her as one of his own. Blake goes by "Blake Schnee" and people think she's a Schnee, however there's a lot of speculation due to her looking nothing like her sisters Winter and Weiss.
  • Interspecies Adoption: Blake is a blood-faunus (a faunus/vampire hybrid) who is adopted by a family of pureblood vampires.
  • Advertisement:
  • Love at First Sight: Ruby begins fawning for Blake from the moment they meet, however it's initially unrequited.
  • The Masquerade: The existence of vampires is kept a secret. They hide their vampire traits around non-vampires.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Vampires survive on blood and blood tablets, but they are also able to eat breads and soups. Anything else is both unpleasant tasting and harmful to a vampire. They can drink animal blood, however animal blood tastes very bitter to them. Physically, vampires have retractable fangs to help blend in and purebreds typically look youthful even into middle-aged.
  • Vegetarian Vampire: Most purebloods avoid killing people by drinking water laced with blood tablets.
