- Expy: In Chapter 1, they openly title-drop Brand New Day. The author later notes in the author notes his disgust towards the actual Brand New Day.
- Not-So-Forgotten Birthday: With everything that was going on in the last fanfic, Jason's birthday is celebrated late. At least he got a birthday.
