is a What If? for Amphibia by infinitetailwag in which explores a scenario on if Marcy's body fell in the portal to Earth after being stabbed by King Andrias.
This fanfic contains examples of:
- Ascended Extra: While in canon, Marcy's parents are only heard in a flashback in "True Colors" and never show up in person at any point in the series, here they play supporting roles in this story due to Marcy's involvement on Earth here.
- Determinator: After being taking over by the Core, Sasha remembers the conversation she had with Anne at the third temple and vows to fight it’s influence as hard as she can. She’s briefly able to regain control when the Core tries to kill Grime, something the Core admits has never happened before.
- Easily Forgiven: Averted for Marcy in regards to her and Anne where while Anne is relieved and happy that Marcy is okay and survived her injuries, it doesn't automatically fix the trust issues Anne has regarding her due to her previous actions and having more trust in the Plantars at the moment.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- Due to Marcy being on Earth, the Core possesses Sasha due to her manipulative nature making her a good substitute. Olivia and Yunan end up betraying Andrias earlier and break Grime out of prison to form a resistance with the remaining toads.
- On the opposite side, Anne and the Plantars are able to find the Dr. P's Extraordinary Guide To Magic & Mystery book due to Marcy being with them and remembering the book.
- Good Parents: While it is implied they were somewhat emotionally distant prior, Marcy's parents are utterly relieved by her return and do everything they can to make their daughter feel loved and happy once she recovers. When Marcy confesses to having known what the Box would do and used it to bring her friends to Amphibia, Mr. and Mrs. Wu sympathize with and comfort their daughter instead of getting angry at her for what she did. Notably, the author states they specifically wanted to avoid the common fan depiction of Marcy's parents as neglectful, abusive, and/or controlling.
- Heroic BSoD: Grime suffers one upon seeing Sasha is possessed by the Core.
- In Spite of a Nail:
- The Core still ends up being involved even with Marcy on Earth, albeit with Sasha as its host instead.
- Anne still reunites with her parents and they meet the Plantars.
- Cloak-Bot still goes after Anne here.
- IntroDump: Every major supporting character from Season 3A's Earth arc (Mr. X and Jenny, Dr. Jan, Terri and the IT Gals) debut in "Chapter 8: 3A Speedrun (Any%)".
