Go To

Justice League of the Rebellion is a crossover between Code Geass and DC Comics, in which Lelouch is Batman, and forms an alliance to fight against Britannia.

This fanfic contains examples of the following:

  • Abled in the Adaptation: Thanks to Scott and Barda, Nunnally can see again, though even with their tech getting her fully ambulatory again is a time-consuming process.
  • Adaptational Badass: Lelouch is the Batman. Nuff said.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Lelouch is more firmly an Anti-Hero here, having decided to adhere to a Thou Shall Not Kill policy on advice from his adoptive father. But since he is a Composite Character to Batman, he isn't above brutalizing his opponents.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • C.C. in canon is The Confidant to Lelouch and, in the movies, is given a Wacky Marriage Proposal by him that she accepts, making them an Official Couple. Here, the two are close friends, but not as close in canon due to each having their own love interests (Rai for C.C. and Kallen/Shirley for Lelouch).
    • Mao and C.C's relationship is completely different with the two of them being fellow students with Rai under Kent Nelson rather than C.C. raising him.
    • Rivalz was a Hopeless Suitor for Milly in canon, here his affections are very much reciprocated.
  • Adapted Out:
    • The crossover seems to have edited out Geass entirely in place of DC metahumans and magic.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection:
    • Lelouch and Nunnally, the Batman and Oracle of this story respectively, were trained and raised by their adoptive parents Mister Miracle and Big Barda.
    • Just like Billy Batson, Kallen Kozuki is selected by the wizard to wield the power of Shazam. Unlike Billy, she was recommended to the Wizard by the Spectre, whose current host is her dead brother Naoto.
    • Prior to debuting as Superman, Rivalz was trained to control his Kryptonian powers by the Martian Manhunter .
    • Rai, C.C., and Mao all studied together under Dr. Fate/Kent Nelson.
    • The deaths of Khufu and Chay-ara that lead to their series of resurrections as Hawkman and Hawkwoman were caused when Vadar (who would become Vandal Savage) stabbed them with an Nth Metal Dagger.
    • The Knightmare technology of Britania was developed by Pat Dugan, who was captured and brainwashed by Savage and his men after the death of his partner Sylvester Pemberton.
  • Age Lift: C.C. is much younger here compared to the source material where she'd been around since the Middle Ages.
  • Ascended Extra: Rivalz was a minor supporting character with no relevance to the main plot in Code Geass, here he's one of the main players as Superman
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: Barda personally takes charge of Kallen, Suzaku, and Rivalz's training for this reason.
  • The Chooser of the One: Kallen was recommended to Shazam as a successor by the Spectre. The host of which is her brother Naoto.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Lelouch ends up gaining the ability to use a flawed version of the Anti-Life Equation, which effectively gives him access to the same abilities as his Geass from canon, albeit at the initial level he had in canon.
  • Exact Words: In exchange for letting him return to Earth to fight the Seven Deadly Sins, Kallen binds Black Adam by saying that he is forbidden from killing or he'll be sent back to exile. Teth-Adam agrees on the condition that he'd be allowed to liberate his homeland of Khandaq. Kallen quickly realizes that her conditions won't stop Adam from rallying a rebellion to kill on his behalf, but given the dire situation and the fact Adam will both be away from Japan and become a thorn in Savage's side, she agrees.
  • Fusion Fic: Has characters and elements from both Code Geass and DC, with Geass itself being ironically Adapted Out for all appearances at this point.
  • Happily Adopted: Lelouch and Nunnally by Barda and Scott Free.
  • The Idealist: Rivalz befitting his role as Superman.
  • Legacy Character:
    • Suzaku isn't technically a Composite Character with Alan Scott because the former was a previous bearer of the Green Lantern. Him choosing the name as an alias was apparently due to the Starheart having made an imprint from his time bearing it.
    • Rai succeeds Kent Nelson as Dr. Fate.
  • Outside-Context Problem:
    • Metahumans like Superman (Rivalz), Shazam (Kallen), and Green Lantern (Suzaku) are this for Britannia. Not only are they're powerful enough to take on their Knightmare Frames, they're also an antithesis to their Social Darwinist principals since they show off their might without killing their opponents or taking power for themselves.
    • Lelouch's plans to take down Britannia and his father come to a halt when he learns that Charles is nothing more than a Puppet King for Vandal Savage, an immortal conqueror that is willing to dispose of Britannia for his own long-term plans.
    • Brainiac's arrival is completely beyond what either side could have imagined.
  • Precursor Heroes: The Justice Society of Britannia who were destroyed by Vandal Savage and the Injustice Society with Brainwave wiping their existence from the world.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Given that he was adopted by Scott Free and Big Barda, this makes this story's Batman the adopted grandson of Darkseid
  • Shipper on Deck: Nunnally really thinks that Kallen and Lelouch would make a good couple. After taking the time to judge Kallen, Big Barda gives the girl her blessing to be with her son.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: The Justice League refrains from killing just like their comic counterparts. Lelouch explains to Kallen that when he was training under Barda and Scott, Scott told him that by becoming the most skilled fighter, he was becoming the greatest of the Emperor's children. Lelouch was horrified by that fact until Scott gave him an idea: that by fighting with all his strength but refraining from killing, he insults everything about Charles's belief of survival of the fittest.
  • Training from Hell: Lelouch fully admits that Barda and Scott's training, while effective, is rather Hellish. Rather fitting, given their origins.
