Introverted
is a Naruto fanfiction by Shadenight123. Naruto has become introverted due a mistake that ended up with Teuchi being killed.
He, Sakura, and Sai end up as members of Team 13, under the guidance of Aoba. Unique in that it takes a realistic look at what the shinobi world is like and how death is sudden and quick, with Naruto forced to deal being the Jinchuuriki as well as the live of a shinobi. It's a Dark Fic, fair warning.

- Even Evil Has Standards: Orochimaru spares Hebi, an orphan girl who reminds him of Anko. then again, considering what we gleam of Anko's own training, maybe it wasn't a good thing at all. He also shows genuine remorse for Sarutobi's death.
- Every Man Has His Price: Naruto managed to buy off Kakuzu for Fuu by giving him the Rasengan, outright betraying the village, which bit him in the ass.
- Eye Scream: When Sakura is tricked into torturing Naruto, she stabs and rips out his eye with a kunai.
- Kabuto ripped out Sasuke's eyes in Chapter 31. In the following chapter Hiruzen rips out Danzo's Sharingan and crushes it. In chapter 37 Anko takes the one in his arm.

- I'm a Humanitarian: When ever the Kyuubi takes over, he has a tendency to turn Naruto into a cannibal. Also, as part of his contract with the Carrion Crows he must feast with them.
- Interrogated for Nothing: Naruto, by Sakura after both were tricked by someone posing as their teacher. Naruto was told it was a pain tolerance test and Sakura was told he gave the mission that got Ino killed away.
- In the Back: Karin launches senbon needles to Naruto in Chapter 39 to prevent him from running away.
- Leave No Witnesses: Naruto kills an entire village after being forced to use his Shadow Clones to save them in the first place.
- Sakura has to do this a lot. It has only made her sanity worse.

- Out-Gambitted: Orochimaru managed to get around all the precautions the Hokage and Danzo set into place by not attacking Konoha but its allies instead while Kabuto got Sasuke's eyes and samples. Kyuubi outsmarted the seal and Naruto outsmarted him. In the end Orochimaru sort of wins in that Naruto accomplished his plans.

Moral Event Horizon for Naruto. - Sympathy for the Hero: Kakuzu has a surprising amount of this for Naruto. Won't stop him from collecting him in a few years, but still.
- "Take That!" Kiss: Kurotsuchi to Naruto, after trapping him and his team and stealing their scrolls during the Chuunin Exam. Kyuubi-Controlled Naruto to Kurotsuchi, later on.
- Through the Eyes of Madness: Mostly with Naruto, but Sakura in chapter 29 is disturbing. Even more so later on.
- Too Kinky to Torture: Karin finds pain synonymous with love.
- Tournament Arc: Chapters 29 through 31. Not Just a Tournament for Danzo as he mind-controlled Naruto to ensure the might of the Jinchuuriki could not be questioned...by having him show no mercy to his opponents, and Orochimaru, who used the heightened paranoia to attack somewhere completely different than expected.
- Training from Hell: Sakura via Anko. Deconstructed in that we see what happens in the end result and it is not pleasant. She may never regain her sanity.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Orochimaru and Naruto. Both wanted peace in the end and both got it.
- Wham Episode: Chapter 46 has Hidan killed and Naruto betraying the village by giving a member of Akatsuki the Rasengan after he killed Yamato in exchange for Fuu, marking the end of his innocence after everything. At the same time, Sakura quits Anbu and awaits him to answer if he loved her or not.
- Chapter 52 has Naruto a missing-nin after having been called out on betraying the village and had his death faked.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Hinata and Ayame and other minor characters who weren't featured in the final arc of the stories. The Author leaves it up to the readers to decide on their own.
