Homestuck: Act 8 or ACT 8 is a fan-created continuation of Homestuck, following immediately after Act 7 in canon. It is a collaborative project created by a group of fans known as Team 8.
Just before claiming the ultimate reward, the door on the victory platform suddenly explodes leaving the remaining players trapped inside the medium. Now faced with an uncertain future, the kids and trolls are left to face the realities of their sessions while the dead come to terms with the lives they left behind.
The project is a (mostly) canon-compliant celebration of the Homestuck fandoms' creativity. It is not meant to be a criticism or challenge of canon, or any of the many talented people who contributed to canon. The fan adventure can be read at mspfanventures.com. - Didn't See That Coming: Vriska throws a tantrum after Lord English isn't defeated the way she wanted him to be.
- Dying as Yourself: A dead Gamzee from the gameover!timeline has a breakdown after he's finally freed from Lord English's mind control and he remembers everything he's done.
- Not Himself: It was eventually revealed that every single iteration of Gamzee has been under the control of Lord English, unbeknownst to the trolls and kids. Vriska somehow discovered the truth, but kept it from the others because she didn't believe he could be saved from his fate.
- Official Couple: Rose/Kanaya, Dave/Karkat, (Pale) Terezi/Vriska
- Ship Tease: For several characters. Namely:
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me! / Here We Go Again!: Terezi note has this reaction after the door explodes.
- Despair Speech: Tavros has one with Aradia.
- Verbal Judo: Rose and an older, dead alternate iteration of Calliope engage in this after the latter tries to explain their situation.
