Go To

Fists of Life is a crossover between Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Ranma ½ and Ikki Tousen by G-Force1.

Kanto region has become a warzone.

Young men and women are battling each other on the streets in brutal fights to the death all to reenact a war 1800 years ago.

The violence and brutality terrify the citizens of Japan but even the Japanese law enforcement is powerless to halt this.

Under pressure the Japanese government attempt to form a plan of action to end this gang war.

Fist of Life provides examples of:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Kenichi couldn’t help but laugh at Ranma’s Wardrobe Malfunction.
  • Aesop Amnesia: Averted Ranma started out with an antagonistic relationship with Chouhi before realizing he was just repeating what he did with Akane.
  • Affectionate Nickname:
    • Kan-chan
    • Uma-chan
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: Ranma’s skill is a big part of why Kanu is attracted to him.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Nodoka doesn’t hide how excited she is that Ranma has female admirers to the point that her only response to his Stripping Snag was to ask Kanu and Chou’un if they found him adequate.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: When Ranma told him her was going to inherit the Tendo Dojo and become an instructor for the Musabetsu Kakuto Ryu Kenichi asked if that was what he really wanted.
  • Artistic License – Child Labor Laws: Ranma and Kenichi are still minors so while they are being paid 200,00 yen a week by the Government, the money is sent exclusively to their legal guardian.
  • Badass on Paper: This is why Kenichi was chosen he won the D of D tournament, is a disciple of Ryozanpaku and has defeated a number of Yami’s disciples.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Ranma was able to sense Ryubi’s Superpowered Evil Side.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: This is Kanu’s opinion of Ranma and Kenichi while powerful fighters they were perfectly content in letting the fights come to them, unless there was threat on the people they held important to them.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: Kenichi doesn’t notice the bespectacled leader of Seito’s budding attraction to him
  • Covert Pervert: Kanu has some very interesting fantasy’s about Ranma.
    • She pinched Ranma-chan’s butt when she carried her home.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Ranma and Kenichi won’t stop helping others even when involving themselves could lead to an attack on Seito.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: Bunshu was furious at Kenichi for telling him to stop fighting and go to a doctor after taking out his legs. In Kenichi’s mind it was the right thing to do however to Bunshu this was an insult.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Averted Akiko was appalled at seeing Akane attack Ranma on suspicion that she was another fiancée.
  • Double Entendre: Nodoka intentionally did this when talking about how Ranma carried Kanu home after their fight.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Kenichi pointed out that as brutal as Raganorok were they never went as far as killing each other.
  • Flechette Storm: Koshaji one of the fighters from Yoshuu sent to assassinate Ranma and Kenichi threw metal acupuncture needles.
  • Honor Before Reason: Kenichi’s wouldn’t hit a girl vow.
  • I Work Alone: Averted Ranma didn’t want to work for a partner until he heard that he was a disciple of Sakaki.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Just as Chouhi was calling Ryuubi out for not acting like a proper leader Kenichi recognized the book she was reading.
  • It's All My Fault: Ranma blames himself for what happened to Bunshi. Since if hadn’t let his guard down he would have realized that Koshaji had regained consciousness.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Chouhi refusing to let Ryuubi be alone with Kenichi after learning of his vow not to hit girls. There are a number of powerful female fighters in the Kanto region and his Thou Shalt Not Kill vow already puts him at a disadvantage so while skilled he would be more of a liability in protecting Ryuubi especially once word of his vow spreads.
  • Love at First Punch: When she and Ranma sparred Kanu’s heart felt like it would explode from her chest.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Ranma and Kenichi view Sakaki's training very differently. While as usual Kenichi is scared to death, and Ranma has a blast!
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Nodoka sees the fact that she hopes that Ranma could put a stop to the manga/ikkitousen as little different then all of the responsibilities heaped on him by Genma in nerima.
  • Oh, Crap!: Nabiki was excited about the 200,000 yen a week ranma would be paid for his services. Until she was told that as a minor it would be sent to his legal guardian.
    • Fortunately his legal guardian is Nodoka.
    • Kenichi when Kanu challenged him to a fight not because he was afraid but because he Wouldn't Hit a Girl.
  • One-Man Army: During Seitou's initiation Kenichi took on 30 students by himself.
  • Police Are Useless: The premise of the story. Kanto has become a warzone. However the authorities are no match for the young men and woman in close quarters combat yet they cant shoot at them unless they are threatened with a gun.
Akiko: They've tried about half the force is in the hospital and the rest are now too scared to respond.
  • Pressure Point: Ranma has recently started to incorporate these into his style. Though he hasn’t learned all the counters.
  • School Uniforms are the New Black: Averted unlike at Furinkan High Ranma has to wear the uniform for Seito, but hates and plates on wearing his regular clothes at every possible opportunity.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: Ranma shows signs of this when met with Seito’s tradition of having new students defeat as many fighters as they can. Seeing that none of the 30 students wer even close to his level he sank them on Kenichi.
    Kenichi: Ah! Damn you Ranma!
  • Schmuck Bait: Ranma’s fighting stance is designed to sucker opponent’s in to thinking he was under estimating them.
  • Stacy's Mom: Nodoka was hit on while waiting for Goei.
  • Story-Breaker Power: In universe Ryofuu considers Ranma and Kenichi’s skill to be this
  • This Is Something He's Got to Do Himself: The masters didn’t give Kenichi any input on his decision to aid the Kanto Region as they felt this trope applied.
    • Averted with Apache who told him he needed to fight.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: Ranma admires Kenichi for holding onto his innocence despite going through so much. According to him he's lost a lot of his
  • Training from Hell: Kanu Chouhi Chou’un and Ryubi remained absolutely silence as they matched Sakaki and Shigure train Kenichi, aside from blinking and breathing they didn't so much as twitch. The sheer carnage of Kenichi's training exercises completely blanked their minds.
Chou'un: Well this certainly explains why Shirahama-san is so formidable.
Kanu: Indeed, enduring such intense training sessions as these would hone any person into a fine warrior.
Chouhi: Training? I think there are torture methods that are more humane than this.
    Ryuubi: K-Kenichi-san
    • Averted for Ranma he saw it as par for the course.
  • Villain Respect: Luckily Ryofu was impressed by Kenichi’s wouldn’t hit a girl vow.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: Not knowing that Kanu and Chou'un was there Ranma left the furo in his Modesty Towel to ask his mom what was for dinner. As everyone was caught up in the surprise of what happened the knot holding the towel around Ranma’s waist started to slip.
