Entering the Love Hina World is a Love Hina Fanfic written by JIL713.

Anthony was just a normal guy who had finished reading the Love Hina manga, and though he somewhat enjoyed it, was also disgusted by the Esoteric Happy Ending and the crap the Inn tenants got away with. Suddenly, he is sucked into his own computer and found in the universe of Love Hina. He is offered to shelter at the Hinata Inn until he can find a way back home, which of course is met with hostilities by the resident sexists, Naru and Motoko. After being falsely accused of peeping (thanks to Kitsune), Anthony gets mortally injured and launched out of the inn, where he makes a fateful meeting with the mysterious maid, Faye. Faye becomes indebted to Anthony for saving her life and offers to be her loyal servant, which he reluctantly accepts. Returning to the Inn, with Faye's help, the lives of the Inn tenants will be turned upside down, some for the better, some for Laser-Guided Karma.

This fic contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Upon meeting Haruka and Keitaro for the first time and being shocked by their indifference at how the Hinata Girls' latest assault sent Keitaro flying out of the Inn, Anthony asks why they're not more concerned, stating that just because someone's supposedly "invincible", it doesn't make it okay for them to be continually assaulted. Both Haruka and Keitaro himself are shocked that somebody actually cares about his well-being.
  • Author Avatar: Anthony is more or less a self-insert of the writer.
  • Berserk Button: Never insult or threaten Anthony in Faye’s presence. She’ll either give you a slap or a Megaton Punch. Also never insult or attack Keitaro in Kanako's presence.
  • Blatant Lies: A no-violence-rule was formed for the Hinata Inn, where breaking it will penalize the attacker with a fee. When Naru once again attacked Keitaro for an imagined "perversion", Faye was quick to penalize her. Naru demanded why she should pay anything as they "have no proof she attacked Keitaro", despite the fact they were the only two in the area and that it's typically her handiwork. When Anthony calls Naru out on her lies, she angrily tries to attack him, only to be stopped by Faye who punches her out in response.
  • Break the Haughty: Naru suffers a Humiliation Conga since Faye entered the picture, the maid rightfully punishing the bitch for her sexist, bratty, and self-righteous actions. Finally, Naru is re-arrested and served a 15-year prison sentence for her part in the destruction of the Inn alongside her prior jailbreak.
  • Broken Pedestal: Shinobu used to look up to Naru, but after witnessing all her attempted attacks on Anthony because of her own misinterpretations, Shinobu lost all respect for Naru.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Keitaro is completely accustomed to being regularly accused of things he didn't do and being punished for those imagined crimes, to the point where he's taken aback by Anthony expressing concern for his safety.
  • Death Glare: Faye to anyone who dares to attack Anthony. Her glare is enough to scare Motoko from doing something stupid.
  • Easily Condemned: For the past three years, Keitaro had been wrongfully beaten up by the tenants for things they thought he did but never done. They try to do the same thing to Anthony just for being a guy. Faye and later Kanako put a stop to this BS.
  • Easily Forgiven:
    • Deconstructed with Mokoto. After her sister visits and drills several harsh truths into her, coupled with her own subconscious calling her out, she apologizes to Keitaro and Anthony... who naturally assume that Tsuruko ordered her to do so. Even after she convinces them that she's legitimately remorsely, the boys make clear that while they might forgive her, that doesn't mean they can trust her, nor are they forgiving her on behalf of everyone else she's assaulted. Faye, meanwhile, rejects her apology outright, declaring that her actions against Anthony were unforgivable.
    • Suu believes she should be easily forgiven for the role she played in the whole debacle with RubyCorp because she "didn't know that what Naru planned for the inn would actually be bad for everyone". Basically, she thinks that her ignorance absolves her, and that apologizing should be enough to earn everyone's forgiveness. Nobody else agrees.
  • Entitled Bitch: After Naru is banned from ever attending Tokyo U due to Faye, Anthony and Haruka reporting her abusive behavior, she demands that Keitaro help her. For some reason, she's completely shocked by his refusal, even asking what she ever did to him. Keitaro just scoffs, wondering why she'd even ask him that.
  • False Rape Accusation: In an attempt to get Anthony and Faye thrown out, Naru has Kitsune bait Anthony into being alone with her, then stages a false molestation. Just as Motoko's about to attack him for the supposed crime, Faye punches her out. Unfortunately for the two conspirators, Sarah and Haruka had witnessed everything from start to finish, proving the whole thing was a set-up.
  • Glass Cannon: Naru and Motoko can dish out pain, but they can't take it. They learn this the hard way against Faye, and later Kanako. Naru gets a taste of her own medicine when Faye punches her out in response to attempted attacks on Anthony, and Motoko gets reduced to a frightened whimpering mess when Faye hits her for the same reasons.
  • Happily Married: By story's end, Anthony is married to Motoko, as he never was able to return home. Additionally, Keitaro and Mitsune tie the knot.
  • Heel Realization: At the climax of the Hinata Inn battle, the maid academy headmistress arrives to show Masako that her anger towards Faye had been horribly misled. She brings out the diary of Masako's dead friend, Asuka, which detailed how she had caught sight of Reiko disguising herself as Faye, pretending to not care about Masako's requests to heal Asuka, all in a bid to break apart their friendship. From this revelation, Masako gets enraged at a now terrified Reiko, who gets nearly strangled to death. When Masako angrily demanded to know why Reiko did what she did, she meekly replied because she wanted to be Masako's only friend, and having multiple ones would break the attention from Reiko, so she made sure Masako never had other friends but her. Disgusted and angered at her pathetic reasoning, Masako cuts Reiko out of her life, telling her never to show her face again. Realizing the truth, Masako apologizes to Faye for everything she's done to her and Anthony.
  • Horrible Judge of Character:
    • Seta truly believed Keitaro was getting along amicably with Naru and Sarah despite visual proof to the contrary (he thought it was all "play fighting"), but condemns Anthony of "charming Sarah" and accusing him of being a bad influence. Haruka gives him a "chat" to beat this line of thinking out of him.
    • When Tsuruko gave Motoko a Sadistic Choice (from Motoko's viewpoint) to atone for all the times she unjustly attacked Keitaro (and later to Anthony). She will stop her attacks on them and could either A.) become Keitaro's servant and bodyguard, B.) financially compensate for all the attacks she made on both Keitaro and Anthony as well as cover the costs of damages she caused to the inn for said attacks (which adds up to a huge sum), or C.) drop swordsmanship, the God Cry style entirely and never set foot in its dojo ever again. Motoko refused to consider the third option as her pride wouldn't let her give up swordsmanship. She also refused the first option due to her irrational insistence that Keitaro is the pervert she believes him to be, adamantly believing he might take advantage of her forced servitude to violate her. Motoko winds up taking the second option, though it's the hardest and will take her years to complete, but considers it the "safe" option. Later on, Motoko realizes that she made things harder for herself unnecessarily as she now sees that Keitaro is truly a kind person and absolutely nothing like she perceived him to be due to her own prejudice. Looking back, it would've been far easier on her had she simply taken the first option if she hadn't been blinded by her irrational sexism.
    • Anthony calls out Naru for trusting everything Masako tells her unconditionally simply because she's a female, having absolutely no idea about the maid's plan for the Hinata Inn.
  • Humiliation Conga: Naru and Motoko after Faye settles in. Naru gets a taste of her own medicine by getting punched by Faye whenever she gets out of line, blacklisted from Tokyo U and arrested for causing a scene, getting literally thrown out of the inn, kicked into the stratosphere by Kanako, and forced to clean a huge mess made by Su at the RubyCorp Mansion.
  • Hypocrite:
    • Naru condescendingly broke off the promise she and Keitaro made when they were kids, declaring that Keitaro's not a real man if he can't handle it. When Keitaro takes it in stride and bluntly says that he's no longer in love with Naru anymore thanks to Anthony opening his eyes to how horribly she's treated, Naru gets offended.
    • Naru also had the audacity to say that Anthony has absolutely no right to be judgmental about her when they haven't interacted much. Anthony calls her out on this by pointing out that she did the exact same thing to him thirty seconds after meeting him.
  • I Have Your Wife: Masako kidnaps Anthony in order to blackmail Faye to come to RubyCorp.
  • I Owe You My Life: Faye the maid swears her Undying Loyalty to Anthony after he saved her from getting run over by a car despite the injuries he himself had due to Naru and Motoko's attacks on him.
  • I Reject Your Reality: Naru is so self-delusional that she refuses to believe she's wrong in interpreting the actions of males and insists that somehow Anthony and Faye are "brainwashing everyone else".
  • I Warned You: When Naru refused to admit to her and Kitsune's plan to kick out Anthony and Faye, Faye threatens to report her abusive violent behavior to Tokyo U and get her blacklisted. Naru scoffs at her, saying she has no reason to believe Faye has any evidence and is therefore an empty threat. A few days later, Naru is shocked to find out she's been banned from entering Tokyo U.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Naru is shocked that RubyCorp seriously intended to demolish the Hinata Inn, proving Anthony was right in his claims. However, Naru blames everything on Keitaro for bringing Anthony to the inn, which led to his meeting with Faye, which led to the "unjust abuse" she suffered under her, which led to her getting blacklisted from Tokyo U, which led her to cooperating with RubyCorp with the takeover of Hinata Inn.
  • It's All About Me: As per usual, Naru is so completely selfish and self-entitled. She even accuses Anthony of "trying to ruin her life", making him livid about how far up in the ass her head is.
  • Jerkass: Naru and Motoko are at the forefront of this as their sexist views spur them into attacking Keitaro for no good reason, then extend this to Anthony simply because he's a guy as well. Well, they try to attack them, but they would be quickly put in their places by either Faye or Kanako.
  • Jerkass Realization:
    • Anthony points out to Sarah that her behavior around Keitaro is completely nonsensical and needlessly cruel for reasons that are petty at best and downright malicious at worst. This forces Sarah to realize that she had been a horrible brat to a good person for no reason.
    • Kitsune gets a taste of reality when a guy she tried to scam for drinks and money was more forceful than she expected and was nearly raped as a result. She gets rescued at the last second by Keitaro and Faye. After that traumatic act and getting rescued by the same guy she had always set up to get beaten for her own amusement, Kitsune apologizes for her actions against Keitaro and makes a serious commitment to change her character for the better, starting with changing her name back to Mitsune and getting rid of her drinks.
    • After losing a duel against Tsuruko, Motoko gets it drilled into her head by her own subconscious that her sexist behavior is reprehensible. Her subconscious calls out Motoko had been unjustly taking out her anger about Tsuruko's marriage on other men as she deluded herself that Tsuruko's husband took her away, but it was nothing more than childish selfishness. Motoko finally realizes how much of a bitch she's been to Keitaro, Anthony, and to men in general and tries to atone for her actions.
  • Lack of Empathy: As per usual, Naru and Motoko due to their extreme sexist views. They showed no sympathy to Anthony's situation and were immediately hostile towards him simply because he was a guy. The worst part was when Kitsune sets up Anthony to get attacked in the bath, he coughed up a considerable amount of blood after Naru punched him out of the inn. The girls were shocked to see blood since Keitaro supposedly never bled before whenever he got attacked. While Shinobu was rightfully worried for Anthony's well-being, Naru and Motoko coldly ignore it, stating it was "deserved" and that "he's not a real man if he couldn't take it".
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Faye doesn't let Naru, Motoko, or Suu get away with the things they do and would give them a sound thrashing for their attempts. Kanako also attacks Naru and Suu for their past transgressions against Keitaro.
  • Made of Iron: Deconstructed; Keitaro's status as an Iron Butt Monkey makes it easier for the residents of the Hinata Inn to downplay and dismiss the severity of the abuse he suffers. Anthony is not nearly so durable, and most of the girls are shocked by the sight of him bleeding after being assaulted.
  • Megaton Punch: Naru when she assaults Keitaro. Unfortunately for her and Motoko, Faye doesn't hesitate to punch them out in defense of Keitaro and Anthony whenever they try to attack them.
  • Mistaken for Pedophile: Just as they do with Keitaro, Naru and Motoko assume Anthony is one. One of the worst times was when Naru tries to attack Anthony simply because he petted Shinobu on the head (which in her mind equates to sexual harrassment). Faye sends her flying with a punch of her own before Naru could land her attack.
  • Ninja Maid: Aside from being a maid, Faye is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat. It was later revealed she had trained for ten years at her maid school.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Mutsumi ran as fast as she could back to the Hinata Inn after discovering that Naru and Suu were willingly cooperating with RubyCorp to take over the Inn. She winds up collapsing on top of Keitaro as a result. Of course, everyone came in at that time, and Motoko was about to attack him for his supposed "perverted actions". However, Faye enforces this trope, warning Motoko not to jump to stupid conclusions before getting her facts straight, lest she wants to get another sound thrashing from her. A scared Motoko was then forced to look at things rationally.
  • Obliviously Evil: Suu is still too mentally immature to understand what she does is bad and that she causes pain to anyone she wants to "play with". She was also willing to betray the Hinata Inn tenants and potentially get it destroyed just for bananas.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Mutsumi is usually an absent-minded ditz, but she gets angry once she learns from Keitaro all the sexist crimes Naru committed against him.
  • Psycho Supporter: Reiko is shown to be very attached to Masako to deeply disturbing levels. She is so clingy and devoted to being Masako's friend that she plotted to end any friendships Masako had with others just so Reiko could have her to herself. It's eventually revealed that Reiko disguised herself as Faye and framed her by making Masako think Faye refused to heal Asuka, Masako's close friend, who was dying simply because she didn't feel like it. This made Masako hate Faye with a vengeance.
  • Psychopathic Womanchild: Suu as usual fails to understand that her ideas of "playtime" are dangerous and lethal. She also never considered that Anthony is a normal human being and that she could've potentially killed him with her inventions. She tried to "greet" Keitaro and Anthony with a "welcome home gift", which consisted of live missiles. Then Suu gets angry like a brat when Faye dared to destroy her missiles before they could get their marks.
  • Punch Catch: The first time Naru tries to punch Anthony in Faye's presence due to falsely accusing him of "enslaving Faye", the maid catches her fist then painfully crushes it. Another time Naru tried to attack Anthony for calling her out on attacking Keitaro despite the no-violence rule in effect, Faye catches it yet again and counterpunches her back.
  • Rage Quit: Naru tries to defend her position that Anthony "tried to peep on her and her friends" in the bath when arguing with Faye, who shoots down her points with simple logic. Seeing she wasn't winning this argument, Naru leaves like a brat and accuses Faye of being too biased, which is downright hypocritical as she herself is biased against all males.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Masako has red eyes and is the biggest threat to the Hinata Inn.
  • Releasing from the Promise: After Anthony accidentally lets it slip that Naru is Keitaro's promise girl, Naru voids the promise in a very condescending way that everyone (aside from Suu) are appalled by.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Naru is so hellbent on petty revenge against Anthony, Faye, and Keitaro, whom she blames for everything bad that had happened to her, that she was willing to work with RubyCorp in taking down Hinata Inn, effectively betraying her home. What makes it even more pathetic was that Naru went along with it because Masako said she would have the inn manager replaced with a female one, not at all aware of their real plan to destroy the inn to build their own property over it.
  • Sadistic Choice: By Tsuruko from Motoko's point of view when the former tells the latter what she'll have to do to atone for her violent actions against Keitaro since a simple apology won't be enough. The first choice is not only stop attacking Keitaro but also to become his servant and bodyguard. The second choice is to financially reimburse Keitaro for every attack she's made on him since their first meeting (as well as on Anthony) as well as the costs of repairs from the damages she's caused to the inn (the attacks on Keitaro alone will cost the equivalent of $32000). The third choice is to completely drop the God Cry style and never pick up a sword or enter the dojo ever again. Motoko's pride wouldn't let her choose the first and third choices, so went for the most difficult second choice, even though it may take her years to complete.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Motoko gets called out on her behavior against men.
      • First, Tsuruko calls Motoko out on her use of their school's swordstyle on men for perceived "perverted actions", correctly saying it was all a bratty response to Tsuruko getting married. She tells Motoko she's not an honorable warrior as she believes herself to be, but a bully.
      • Mitsune angrily slaps Motoko for immediately assuming Keitaro tried to have his way with her and thought to go out and harm him for it. She would not let Motoko insult and demean the man who saved her from an attempted rape, calling out that she's sick of Motoko jumping to conclusions about Keitaro without knowing all the facts.
      • Shinobu of all people lets Motoko know that she hated her harsh treatment on Keitaro, Anthony, and men as a whole. She flat out calls Motoko a sexist, shocking her.
    • Naru gets subjected to these by some of the cast for her actions.
      • Both Sarah and Mutsumi whack Naru before calling her out on her attempting to attack Anthony over an imagined "assault on Shinobu", saying her behavior is unacceptable. Shinobu herself also calls Naru out on her violent behavior, for attempting to attack Keitaro and Anthony at the drop of a hat for no real reason, to which Shinobu is reduced to tears. Then Mitsune calls Naru out for making Shinobu cry because of her self-righteous attitude. Naru just whines about how everyone is ganging up on her.
      • Anthony gives Naru a serious dressing down of her character while he was being held hostage, calling out how much of a delusional self-righteous bitch she truly is who is completely clueless as to what was truly going on and how others think of her due to her abhorrent behavior. He goes into fine detail exactly why he hates Naru so much because of her selfishness.
      • Motoko calls Naru out on siding with Rubycorp for incredibly petty reasons, calling her a moron for not realizing she's being used. When Naru accuses her of being a traitor to "their cause", Motoko calls out her hypocrisy, stating that she and the other tenants are the ones who feel betrayed by Naru for siding with the company planning to demolish the Inn (in which Naru still stupidly believes they're doing that to rebuild it better).
      • Mitsune has no sympathy for Naru once it finally sinks in that Rubycorp really is intending to destroy the inn to expand their own property while leaving the tenants out to dry. She breaks down about how she'll have nowhere else to go, to which Mitsune says there is, and that's prison. Naru is shocked as to why Mitsune would say that to her, and Mitsune spells it out that it's because Naru deserves it for all the trouble she caused for everyone out of nothing but spite. She shoots down Naru's argument that she did it for everyone by saying she never even discussed it with the others in the first place if they wanted it or not, just made wrongful assumptions, then asks Naru if she was so stupid enough to believe Shinobu of all people would want Keitaro gone. Simply put, Naru's actions were all for herself.
  • That Man Is Dead: Kitsune, after her harrowing experience where she had almost been raped, gets a wake-up call that her current lifestyle can lead her down a dark and dangerous path. To change herself for the better, Kitsune gets rid of her alcohol stash, started working for once, and throws away her nickname to relabel herself with her actual name of Mitsune.
  • Tranquil Fury: Faye has a cold demeanor when she protects Anthony from Naru and Motoko's attempts to attack him by beating the shit out of them with cold efficiency.
  • Translation Convention: Anthony, despite speaking English the whole time (and for the readers), is shocked when the cast ask how he's so fluent in English when talking to Nyamo. He asked what they were talking about since he had been speaking English to them the whole time, and they to him. Turned out the whole time it was all in the native Japanese and translation powers thankfully came with the package of getting sent to another world.
  • Underestimating Badassery:
    • Naru, Motoko (initially), and Kitsune (initially) thought Faye to be an overprotective but harmless maid. While Motoko and Kitsune got the message that Faye is someone they should not anger, Naru stupidly continues to underestimate Faye.
    • Reiko makes the stupid mistake of taunting Faye who was currently in an Unstoppable Rage. She thought she had the advantage since Faye didn't have offensive magic like her, challenging her to try and hit Reiko once. To Reiko's shock and pain, Faye instantly sent her flying a hundred feet with a punch, knocking her into a tree.
  • Unstoppable Rage: During the battle at Hinata Inn, Masako absorbs Anthony's ki, causing him great pain, in order to unleash her ultimate form and to hurt Faye. Faye in turn goes into a frightening rage that she easily defeats Masako's transformed state like nothing, forcing her to revert. It looked like Faye was going to seriously kill Masako for her torturing Anthony, but was ultimately snapped out of it by the person in question.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Naru is completely unaware that Masako and RubyCorp are using her to demolish the Hinata Inn to make way for their property expansion project, as she is so self-absorbed in getting her revenge against those who have wronged her.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: While not there yet, Faye is very protective of her master, Anthony. She's beaten the crap out of Naru and Motoko when they try to attack him for their stupid reasons.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Mutsumi was greatly disappointed in Naru's violent bratty behavior and begins to question if she could still be considered a friend, especially after discovering she and Su are working with RubyCorp.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Kanako was more than willing to beat the shit out of Sarah after learning how she treated Keitaro in the past. She also delivered pain to Suu for all her transgressions against Keitaro with her inventions, not giving a damn if Suu's completely unaware that she hurts Keitaro every time she "plays" with him. Masako the maid punches out Suu after she climbed on and sat on the maid's shoulders.
