"Dudley Dursley Saves the World" is a Harry Potter oneshot fic by Aesop in 2002, prior to the release of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It chronicles Voldemort's latest attempt to rid himself of the Boy Who Lived. Unfortunately, it really doesn't go his way...

This fic features the following tropes:
- Accidental Hero: Dudley's titular saving of the world happens as he's attempting to escape Privet Drive and falls on Voldemort. He probably doesn't even realize what's happened!
- Alas, Poor Villain: Harry towards Voldemort. Played for laughs.All [Harry] could think of when he looked down at his nemesis was "what a way to go".
- Alternate Universe: Slightly, possibly a case of
Outdated by Canon. Apparently Voldemort can enter Number 4 Privet Drive in this continuity...which he just does. - Exact Words: Voldemort says that he wouldn't hurt the Dursleys, not that no harm would come to them.
- Minimalist Cast: This fic features exactly six characters: Harry, Voldemort, the Dursleys, and Wormtail. And half of them die!
- Potty Failure: Either Dudley or Voldemort loses control of his bladder after Dudley falls on top of Voldemort; Harry isn't quite sure which it is.
- Tally Marks on the Prison Wall: Harry considers marking the days until he can go to the Burrow on his bedroom wall, but he figures that Aunt Petunia would get mad at him.
- Undignified Death: Voldemort is smothered to death when Dudley jumps out of the window and falls on him.
